The only thing that could have dissapointed me more than not dealing up for Bush and NOT taking Leinart was REACHING (reaching on Cutler means <= 20th pick in my mind) for Cutler. Thank god Denver did it instead.
I agree. Cutler wouldn't have played for the Jets in 2006 anyway. I am fine with figuring out this Ramsey-Pennington thing in 2006 and going forward after that.
I am glad Cutler is gone and the rumors of us trading to #13 for him are gone. But Denver is such a great place for Cutler. A program that wins every year and a place he can sit on the bench and learn for a couple of years. I am not a Cutler fan but I like the move by Denver.
I'm glad we're going with Duckwing and ScatterArm Ramsey as well. Now we'll certainly be in the Brady Quinn sweepstakes next year but knowing this franchise, they'll give Pennington a 10 year extension and draft a RB next season anyway..
Barring a miracle from Ramsey, we really don't have a legit QB going into the season. It's too early for predictions but most people on here should expect a rebulding year with another top ten pick next year. I think Cutler was the last hope for a good qb propsect, without him, I am not excited about drafting a qb this year, maybe someone could sell me on Omar Jacobs or "brittle" Brodie Croyle, other then that, let's not waste a pick on qb............
I would have loved to get Cutler too. The fact of the matter is the Jets WILL select a QB today. He will be a backup this year with the hope he will develop into a starter, but if Pennington or Ramsey steps up then it is ok if the new guy becomes only a quality back-up. If Pennington, Ramsey or the new guy isn't worth starting in 2007 we WILL be drafting a QB in the first round next year!
Hehe, I was happy to see Cutler go off the board. He did go to Denver so he'll probably be a decent QB but he would have been a longshot with the Jets.
So we'll go 6-10 this year and will still be looking for a QB next year. I hope that i am wrong. Maybe we'll lose more games this year and we can pick Quinn next April. Who knows.... Ramsey may shock us. Anyway, ... D'Brick at #4 ..... ???? I,m not thrilled, but let's see how it all pans out.
haha agreed....brady quinn looks like the real deal, but i hate tanking the season just to get a good draft pick
