Cakes, I Agree. Titties are always in style. Here's a question I have. Is Namath the only QB to win both the super bowl and the National Championship? I remember reading that recently and I couldn't verify if there was another QB to do the same.
Troy Aikman started the season as the Oklahoma QB in 1985, winning the first three games before getting injured and being lost for the season, so while he was a member of the team, he didn't play most of the season. Namath's national championship in 1964 is a little odd, since Alabama actually lost to Texas in the Orange Bowl. Voting for both AP and UPI was done before the bowl games then, and Alabama finished #1 while Arkansas finished #2. Arkansas beat Nebraska in the Cotton Bowl and finished undefeated, so they certainly would have been national champions if the polls had been taken after the bowl games. It was only starting in 1974 that all polls were taken after the bowl games.
Joe Montana won the 1977 national title at Notre Dame. Terry Hanratty was the Notre Dame QB in 1966 when they won the national title. He has two Super Bowl rings as Terry Bradshaw's backup. Tom Brady won a national title as a backup for the 1997 Wolverines. edit- Ken Stabler was probably Steve Sloan's backup for Alabama in 1965. If so, Stabler would also qualify. But if looking for players who started on national title and Super Bowl winners, Montana and Namath would be the ones.
