I just was looking at the paper and it says NO is asking for next years first round in addition to the 4th and 29th. OR the 4th 29th 35th and 2nd round next year. I don't know in the first deal we sill keep the 35th which we can pick up a Giles, Mangold, even Croyle. Next years first round is tough but its Reggie Bush. Maybe if we woulda seen this coming we woulda been players in the FA market. What would you guys do? Would you make the deal?

    Of course not.
Football isn't basketball, where one star player can carry your team. Each position can only do so much, and no position is worth giving up that many top picks for, especially considering the fact that Bush may not be even capable of being an everydown back.

I wouldn't do it I mean that is a lot and considering that next year is suppose to also be a talent filled draft I stay at 4 and keep our picks.

The Saints should just take #4, #35, #71 and be content. RB is the one position they don't need and they will still be able to get Brick or Hawk if they make this deal.

NO WAY! Losing 4 and 29, along with another pick this year is WAY TOO MUCH to begin with. Giving up the first rounder next year removes any possibility at targeting Quinn, so there is no chance I would make this move.

The whole reason I don't want a QB this year is because I want to give our current crop a chance, and have Quinn in the back pocket in case they don't work out. Trading this much away for ANY player would set back the rebuilding process at least two years.

I'd rather trade down than give up those picks and grab a LB or DE at #10 and get another second rounder.

See that would be widly overpaying and I would NEVER advocate that type of insanity

I'm willing to overpay within reason {see my message to tangini}, but I'd never make one of those foolish Heschal Walker or Ricky Williams trades which is exactly what this would be

Like I said in the other thread, NEVER give up a pick in the future first two rounds. It's just foolish team management, and being so new, I doubt Tanny would even consider it.

Those greedy bastards. They're trying to make up for the time Ditka screwed the pooch on Ricky Williams.

I think it might be worth it to gamble here.

Just sit at 4 and let the cards fall where they may. NO won't find any takers for their insane demands and still be able to draft the player they covet.

The Titans will take Leinart or Young as they already have a decent RB.

The Jets still get Bush, except now they have all their other draft picks.

While that might seem like a Royal Flush, I think it's highly likely given this new scenario.

Madden should include drafting the next year's pick - and let THEM handle the draft situation. They will fare much better than the clowns down there.

It depends on how highly we have him rated and if we think the rest of the draft sucks. Personally if we are going to go for an offensive weapon I would much prefer we draft Davis and a RB with our first two picks than Bush.

take off your green and white colored glasses, because saying they should be happy with the 4,35 and 71 picks is just insane. You dont trade the MJ of tghe sport for measle scraps, think this through as if you were on the other side. Duece is comming off an injury and last year they had no real rb, plus brees needs a playmaker who can play the slot, wing back or hand off too, plus the saints can use a punt returner/ kickoff specialist to go with the beerman lewis. So think about it why wouldnt NO want him, a city in need of marketability, so take off the shaded glasses and look at this as a non homer, please and at least say 4, 29,35

Take it easy there buddy, 4, 35, and 71 are NOT measle scraps. Thats a lot of picks just to move up 2 spots. Also Reggie is gonna want #1 pick money and the Saints would be stupid to have 50% of their salary cap going towards the RBs. Granted he is an elite prospect like none other but NO is the same boat Houston was in and if they are smart they will draft a position of need like OT or LB.

come one now you know how many FA's reggie will possibly attract as well next year if he is in the big apple what o linemane wouldnt want to block for him not to mention the publicity he would bring to a team, think about it he is a cash cow in so many ways and the demands set forth are more then reasonable for the best player on the planet and to get him in the green and white

What everyone keeps forgetting is that if we stay at 4, we are taking an OL. That changes everything in my mind, b/c that, to me, is a waste of such a premium pick. If the plan is pick Dbrick, then I hope we trade up. However, Jet history tells me that the Jets will stay at 4 and take Dbrick, ahead of Leinart or Young or Bush, and we will still be talking about what a mistake it was 5-10 yrs from now

If we stay at 4 we will take a QB or trade down and take a QB. To pass on Bush for D'Brick would be complete insanity.
