Every year I invest in Yoonew (link) tickets in a hope and a prayer that if the J-E-T-S do ever it to a Superbowl I'll have tickets waiting for me instead of having to buy them for $1000+ on Stubhub. I usually wait for a crushing loss to pickup some tickets, but with the economy the way it is, and I suppose due to the new coach/qb tickets are extremely cheap in the preseason. The way it works is exactly like the stock market, you can buy and sell at anytime during the season, so if the Jets go 2-0 these tickets will jump probably at least 75% in value. Here are the AFC East prices as of now, which could be a good gauge of people's (gamblers?) expectations from the division. These amounts are for the cheapest seats you can get, middle uppers. Patriots $539.83 Bills $69.00 Dolphins $54.68 Jets $49.70
What happens if the Jets don't make it to the SB? Waste? Not a bad investment though but I wouldn't buy it this yr atleast.
I bought 2 tickets on Yoonew.com at the beginning of the year the year Brien missed the 2 FG's in Pittsburgh for the AFC Championship game in NE. The tickets cost me 15.00 total. I haven't been the same since.
As soon as the Jets are eliminated from the playoffs it's worthless. If the Jets make it to the playoffs that's where it gets interesting, you could probably sell them for $500+ depending on homefield advantage at that point or wait it out to see if they get to the big dance.
Its seems more like stock market but if you're smart enough, you can actually make some money. Thanks for the info!
how much would it cost once the jets make the SB? right now you can get +1900 on the jets wining the AFC. So if you think you can buy SB tickets for $1000 once the jets win AFC then you should only pay up to $53 for the tickets now. Otherwise just bet 54 on jets to win afc +1900 . How much are SB tickets? On yoonew, they are going for over 2k... seems like there is a clear arbitrage opportunity here. does anyone know where you can lay -2000 that the jets dont win AFC ? $50 tickets now is worth
But when you look at cost/benefit, you could buy at $50 for 20 years and just have to have the Jets make it once to at least recoup your money (assuming $1000 for a SB ticket at the time). Of course, if the Jets made it to the SB, I'd gladly just keep my ticket thank you very much
