because the Patriots showed that, even without him, they could field a competitive team last season

I'm not taking anything away from Roddy White.....but Andre Johnson is the better WR, IMO.

    That's obvious, but I don't think that's the point.

    enlighten me, dude. :)

At first glance....I would say Andre Johnson is about 90% of the Texans' offense......while Roddy White has better talent around him (Turner, Jenkins and now Gonzo). Thus making AJ more "irreplaceable" and more vital to the Texans' offense, IMO.

Turner, Jenkins, and Gonzalez >>> Slaton, Walter, Daniels

Unless of course....i'm missing the point altogether.

If you think AJ is more "irreplaceable" then I think you get the point, you just disagree. Your original statement was that Johnson was a better receiver though.

    1) Peyton Manning
    2) Tom Brady
    3) Larry Fitzgerald
    4) Troy Polamalu
    5) Vince Wilfork/Jamal Williams/Casey Hampton/Kris Jenkins
    6) Asomugha
    7) Demarcus Ware
    8) Calvin Johnson
    9) Albert Haynesworth
    10) Andre Johnson

None of these 10 players are really replaceable. The four nose tackles can be replaced by each other but after those four it's a huge drop off.

He manages to allow Oakland to outwit coaches like Mangini with the obviousness factor.

Agreed, at least the best CB anyway, but how much is he helping the team? If he goes down then they only win 2 games? When the team is that bad everyone is replaceable.

I'd like to find fault with that list, but... I guess I'd quibble with Big Ben. I think they could run and win by running if they didn't have him. I would put Brady on the list DESPITE the fact they went 11-5 withot him because I think his aura still informed the personality of that team, making him even MORE indispensable due to the fact that he can influence a team when he's not even in the STADIUM, but maybe I'm just high. Fitz is a great call and Namndi is probably overrating his indispensability because even WITH him they ain't no good, but hey, quibbles
