You left off an option to trade down and take advantage of a team like Arizona or Oakland that will be clamoring for players as the top five is spontaneously shuffled... it would be our opportunity to cash in, and IMO the smartest thing we could do considering we are "rebuilding".
Alright, I'll say it. Reply as you will. I wanted one more option. Trade up? Yes. For Regie? No. For Young. Not up to 2 to get him but we would probably have to. I think he'll go to the Titans. I will say that I would have ABSOLUTELY no problem with the Bush pick but if we pay this kid the big time bucks he'll demand I am not so sure I would want him returning kicks and that will limit him to @20 touches per game. Hope he's worth it. In the pros. He kicked ass in college but the game is diff. Young would touch it on every O possession. More bang for your buck IMO.
What are 30% of the people thinking, potentially the most exciting player in the NFL in green and people would rather have an OT (Brick) and Bobby Carpenter????
The most exciting player in football does us absolutely no good without an offensive line or defense. I say we stay at #4 and see what develops. People on this site seem to underestimate how expensive it would be to trade up for Bush--at least what the Giants paid for Manning, if not more. Rumor has it that Bush will refuse to play for the Saints. If that's the case we can try to twist their arm or hope that they take Ferguson and the Titans take Vince Young (highly unlikely.)
It sounds like people have a real good idea of what it would take. So basically we won't trade Brick, Carpenter and some stiff 3rd rounder for Marshall Faulk.
