Real options.. #4 and 1st rounder next yr #4, #35, #71 + a 7th rounder #4, #29, #71 for #2 and a late round pick #4, #35 and 2nd rounder next year for #2 and a mid round pick.
People, this is Reggie F*cking Bush. This isn't some typical Heisman winner who isn't going far in the NFL. This is 20 carries 295 yds against Fresno (ranked team) with 500+ all purpose yards. This is a touchdown waiting to happen from ANY PART of the field. What linebacker is going to cover this guy out of the backfield? He's a perfect fit for us. Curtis Martin is willing to play a backup role and get 5-8 carries a game. Reggie can catch the ball out of the backfield and score. THIS IS A GUY WHO CAN SCORE FROM ANYWHERE AT ANY TIME PEOPLE. When's the last time one of those wore green?
I would not give anything for a situational running back that is not a full time player. As much as I would hate wasting #29 on D. Williams I would hate even more wasting the number 2 and the entire draft on a 3rd down 15 carry a game back. If we really have our hearts content on picking in the top 5 again next year there is no better way to do it than to throw away this years draft for Bush. That being said it still is hard not to be excited having a Gale Sayers type athlete on the team even if it means our team will most likely not play any better than Sayer's Bears.
New Orleans wants to trade down more than we want to trade up, so I'd low ball them a bit. #4 and #35 or #4, #71, the KC 4th rounder, and next year's 2nd rounder. While the 2nd option gives up more points, I like it better, because we'd still have the flexibility to package #29 and #35 and move up into the teens and grab Cutler or Justice if they were to slide a bit.
