The trade up to #2 should be handled as such. First off come to term with the Saints tonight. Most likely #4, #29, and our 3rd or 4th round pick. Then, once the deal is agreed for both sides, keep the Saints on a hotline until the Texans have Mario Williams up on the stage, and then pull the trigger for the trade. The FO must not make this trade tonight, but wait until the Mario Williams pick is completely finalized, in order to avoid any potential second thoughts that the Texans may have about selecting Bush. It is key to remember that the Mario Williams signing by the Texans is not completely final until he is actually drafted. It is also imperative that the Jets do not overpay for Bush, he is a great player, but not worth giving up our whole draft for.
We need to take a hardline take it or leave it approach with the Saints. The draft chart value crap, needs to go right out the window.
I'd say its a done deal with Williams. Even the Texans website is telling fans to reserve their Mario Williams jersey today.
This hysteria of trading up for Bush is crazy, this pick could set us back for years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the fact is this, we actaully have some leverage with this deal. If you think about it, if they trade picks with us, they're guarenteed the player they were targeting before (d'brick/hawk) because TEN is taking a QB with that third pick. Green Bay is probably the second behind us. We also have more picks than any other team possiibly in the works. if we want him, we really could get it done.
Reggie Bush = the next king of ny Reggie is the perfect fit. Curtis still has a little gas left in the tank, and people aren't sure Reggie can be an everydown back. Split carries helps the team and get Reggie ready to be an everydown back in the NFL. We best trade up for Reggie.
