Would you give a 1st AND Cotchery to get him?

    lmao @ John Clayton

He said the Broncos won't trade Brandon Marshall. Then there was a quote from Brandon's agent and the agent said that the Broncos said they will do everything in their power to accommodate his wishes

Why would we do that? Draft picks would suffice.

Nope because keeping Cotch along with Marshall gives us the best #2 receiver in the league short of Boldin. (I consider him a 1A not a 2 anyways)

If we give someone up let it be from a different position. We are too thin at wideout to give a proven commodity like J Co up in this deal.

I would offer next year's first for him.

I would throw in someone like Brad Smith but not Cotchery....he's too proven. Giving Sanchez that many threats and our O-line would allow us to know right away if he's got what it takes, and we could potentially go far right off the bat, especially if the Defense is what we and they expect it to be.

That is beyond too much. I'd give up a decent player like Brad Smith and a 2nd and 5th rounder.

We can't give up next year's first. 2010 could be the best draft ever. It should be loaded with 3-4 defensive lineman.

A third and a player would be better. Giving up a second for him wouldn't be too bad...it's not like he's Justin McCareins.

Id rather wait until we know that Sanchez is the real deal before we load up on wrs, if it turns out he sucks then we will be back to square one in finding a qb and then by the time we get one all our wrs will either be gone or past prime

For what we gave up to get Sanchez, they are betting that Sanchez is the real deal. You dont draft your QB at #5 and then say, "ehhhh, were not sure if hes going to be the guy." He will be the guy, barring a complete chock job, which at this time isnt imminent. It's in the best interest to surround his with talent to set him up for success.

This offense is being built around Mark Sanchez.

The offensive line could use some depth - hopefully Slauson will learn under Faneca. It looks like Ferguson and Mangold will be anchors on this line for a long time. I'm just worried about the right tackle spot.

Our running game is set, especially if we lock up Washington. Shonn Greene is our back of the future. If Thomas Jones leaves, he can easily be replaced through free agency.

The receiving corps is basically non-existant. Jerricho Cotchery is a damn good player, but he's a #2 receiver. Everyone behind him on the depth chart shouldn't be a starter. Brandon Marshall makes sense for this team.

This team has to get weapons for Mark Sanchez. It's the only way he'll be GREAT.

Because how do you rebuild in the NFL? Through the draft, they traded cutler because it gives them draft picks to use on D, it keeps them from having to negotiate a new deal with him, and 3rd because he isn't all that good. his rookie year he took over a 7-4 team and drove them right out of the playoffs he has followed that up by going 7-9 and 8-8 in one of the worst divisions in football, some of that falls on the D, particularly last year, but Cutler is all potential no execution, he throws for a ton of yards, but isn't all that accurate and turns the ball over way too much. If I were the GM of a rebuilding team I wouldn't want to stake him to the amount of money he wants. The idea that you need a big armed Qb to win in the NFL is a fallacy, in fact accuracy and limiting turnovers has proved to be farm more important to being a SB winning QB.

Marshall is a great talent. He put up incredible numbers to start the season last year and then was hobbled after game three or four with his hip injury, the severity of which the team never advised him despite two MRIs. Even with the hip injury, which greatly diminished his acceleration and cutting ability, he still posted strong numbers. He's definitely not as fast as Owens was in his prime but has much better hands and seems much more emotionally stable despite the repeated domestic issues.

When you have a shit D you're going to throw more and it will lead to more INTs. I've seen Cutler play. Orton is no Cutler. He's not even Cassell.

If I were the GM of the Broncos, I'd be building upwards. Not tearing down by alienating one of the best starting QBs in the league right now. MCD was a QB coach as well. So he could have easily fixed anything wrong with Cutler, had he wanted to. As for the big arm comment, I agree, you don't "need" a big arm, but it all depends what the game plan is. If you want your QB to manage the game, then he manages the game. The video posted of Marshal also highlights some beautiful passes by Cutler. Why....just why. It's ridiculous.

You can't fix guys like Cutler. McD saw it in NE. Even Weiss and Belichik couldn't get Bledsoe to run an offense and read defenses. Cutler is just another Bledsoe. Throw it a mile and make everyone go WOW once in awhile... unfortunately when the game is on the line the chances are much greater he's gonna throw it to the wrong team.

WHo were they going to trade to get draft picks if not cutler? He had a trade value much higher than his win value to that team, where noone else did, he wants an extension which would have tied up cap room. Moving him was the right move, now whether what they get for him turns out, or he succeeds elsewhere is still to be seen. However Building around him was a 5 year plan in all likelihood, and unlikely to succeed, a good draft and offseason next year slotting in affordable veterans with solid draft choices in the style the patriots, and recently the dolphins have done could result in a quick turnaround.
