"It helps that Clemens and Sanchez are represented by the same agent, David Dunn. But make no mistake: Clemens' decision to assist Sanchez has nothing to do with who represents them. It has everything to do with Clemens' attitude."

KC really, really needs to get a new agent. If this Dunn guy has to choose he's going to choose his meal ticket and thats not KC.

If it was up to Dunn I would imagine he'd be pulling for Clemens. Sanchez is going to get his money regardless and if Clemens has a big year he'll get his money next year.

this is awsome. so when we draft sanchez' replacement next year, sanchez will have the social skills to groom him. wonderful.

How come Clemens does not mention what he learned from Brett Favre on how to be selfish, fun loving teamate witha who cares if I throw an intercpetion I am only hear a year attitude. Seriously, sounds like Sanchez will be fully prepared to be Clemens backup. Great news for us.

You can never have enough quality depth at QB. I still stand by my statement that Clemens will be the opening day starter.

If kellen clemens broke sanchez's arm, would that put him out of the qb race?

It seems like Clemens is having a fantastic offseason. If you remember last year, when he was competing with Chad, he was throwing INT after INT and looked sloppy. I don't care if Sanchez or Clemens starts, as long as one of them can play effectively. However, if Sanchez starts this season and plays well, I would love to keep Clemens on the team for a few more seasons as a backup.

If Sanchez starts, I really believe Clemens leaves NY.

I agree with Steve though, I would love to have them both and I don't really care who starts as long as one of them plays well. Obviously it seems Sanchez has more potential and it's exciting to root for a 1st round QB prospect, but we have a better chance THIS year with Clemens for obvious reasons.

I also love the part about KC talking up Chad. That really made me happy. Chad gets a bad rep around here but he's still my favorite player in the NFL.

A nice article. It's good to read something so positive about Chad on this board.

I think that KC has realized that he, most likely, will not be with the Jets next season and he doesn't want to get the reputation as a crybaby or a malcontent (which will adversely effect his next contract). This season is his open audition for the entire NFL and what team would want a backup (his most likely position) that is a whiner and a malcontent?

if you think that backup is his most likely position on any team, then why do you think he most likely wont be with the jets next year? he knows the system and would be a pretty good back up here...

Cool article, but really highlights what we lost from this franchise a year ago. We traded one of the greatest locker room guys and a solid qb for a washed up selfish greedy playing for all the wrong reasons qb. It's sweet that we have Sanchez now and it seems as though KC is coming along (as always this time of year), but i can't help but to miss Chad just a little bit. He really was a stand up guy in every sense of the word.

...but, on another team, he would have a shot at being the starter. There is no way that the Jets coaching staff will bench Sanchez within the next 5 years unless he does SO horrendous they have no choice. Even then, they'll draft another one to replace him. Put him on a team with an unsettled QB situation or with an aging veteran and he has a very good shot of getting some regular playing time. Now do you think that he's the type of QB that would be willing to remain (permanently) a #2 QB or do you think that he WANTS to be a starter?

fair enough. i'll be honest, i just want whoever does the best for the jets this year and then hope things work out. i'm pulling for clemens to win the starting job and do well this year and then after the season we can figure out what to do...
