Jets Claim Tight End Martrez Milner Off Waivers

    http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/articles/show/2988-te-martrez-milner-arrives-via-waivers

Milner is a former 4th round pick that never lived up to his potential. He was an all-SEC tight end in 2006.

His biggest problem is dropping passes. He's not the best blocker in the world, but he gets the job done. For a guy that's close to 260, he's got pretty good speed.

    Depth signing.

We signed that kid Jack Simmons as an UDFA during rookie minicamp.

Ryan praised him several times for his blocking even though they weren't in pads. He was a 3 year starter at Minnesota. He's about 6'4 250. I think he's got a good shot at sticking as a blocking TE.

as long as there are 3 TEs on the roster i'm happy.

i remember this kid. It'd be nice to see the jets be the team he does well on, but its a long shot.

If I remember correctly, he was a pretty decent blocker at Georgia...but I gotta be honest, folks............I remember him dropping a BUNCH of passes in critical situations

Was Milner before or after Willie Montinez? I was 6 or 7 when Milner was on the Mets so the players get kind of mixed up. Yeah, I loved J Milner...
