I would have never done this if I were him. He may be setting himself up for ridicule if he struggles later. Or rather, when. Even the greatest QBs struggle at first -- well, except for this one guy named Brady, but you can argue maybe the reason he did OK was because he didn't have a lot of pressure from a high profile, which Sanchez seems to be going out of his way to get. Sorry to be so boring, but I can't really figure out how in any way, shape, or form this is a positive for the Jets football team. Maybe not much of a negative either -- though I predict if he has a slow start, it will become one -- but not a positive. Maybe great for selling PSLs, maybe great for selling endorsement deals for Sanchez, but don't help the teambuilding none. This is just taking the silliness that made his jersey the top seller, and multiplying it. He'll already get more attention than many can handle well, just by being a starting QB in New York. Not sure why he's out looking for even more.

He is clearly establishing himself as the alpha-dog in the AFC East. He has the girls like Brady, now he just needs to challenge him to a fight.
Do you think this whole thing was his idea? You say you'd never have done this if you were him, but he's not signing his own checks. Part of his appeal to Woody was the fact that he could push him as the face of the franchise. Sanchez isn't going out of his way to get anything. His number one priority, and number one personal focus, is football. The other stuff comes with being the highest profile Jets draft pick in ages. Placing the blame for this on Sanchez is absolutely foolish and shows you don't know the first thing about him as a person.

I haven't seen anyone here who LIKES that he's doing it. I just see people who accept that it happened and don't care, and people who are freaking out over it. You being embarrassed by anything but your own behavior is laughable. Why do you call him "our QB"? You're not even a Jets fan.
this has nothing to do with the AFC east or even the jets considering this photo shoot occurred before the draft! and for anyone wondering why he did it, would you really say no at 22 years old (or any age actually) to having Hilary Rhoda (whose name I never knew till today) rubbing up against you in a bikini? i think that's worth some ridicule. he was gonna get crap from the veterans no matter what, thats what rookies get. at least he got something out of this one....
