I'm not buying into any Gholston hype until the pads go on and he has played a full game, with production. You guys seem to be biting again on the phenom in shorts.
Gholston doesn't get any excuses in my book. Just get on the field and play, this is the year for him to boom or bust. If he has a repeat of last season, I doubt he'll be in the league much longer.
I really think Gholstons' biggest fallback was him missing all the voluntary workouts while he had to finish classes.
He would have missed the voluntaries anyway, being that he wouldn't have had a contract by now. It was the mandatory dates that he missed which hurt him most.
i'm trying to be the 'glass is half full' regarding Vernon. the way i see it is we got 2 first round draft picks this year, Sanchez and Gholston...
I never thought about it that way we have the 6th pick from last year & the 5th pick from this year if these two guys pan out we will be loaded.
Yeah, he totally fooled us with his public speaking drills at the combine. The guy could have Tourette Syndrome and I wouldn't care, as long as he played like an animal.
Wait, what if the #50 on the field at Florham Park is really Eric Barton, and no one told him he was traded? We need reports on #56 immediately to see if there is wiffing going on from that jersey still...
That made me LOL.... but seriously, it's not a surprise to me that Gholston fits in better with Ryan and his staff. I'm not saying this guy is going to go from bust to hall-of-famer overnight, but he's not necessarily the smartest football player in the world. With some time getting used to this team, a new coach who can focus more on what Gholston DOES have to offer, instead of what he doesn't... I expect a much higher level of play this year...
