I never thought I'd say this, but you're clearly standing in the deep end of your family's gene pool.

I hope to salvage this thread a bit...

I think the Giants do have the best 4-3 defensive line in the NFL. The depth they have should allow them to keep the pass-rushers fresh and attacking the QB. This is good because Romo & McNabb are good at buying time and can be deadly, especially on 3rd downs. I also think the addition of Michael Boley gives the Giants something they have not had in a while; a true cover LB. This combined with the (hopeful) development of Bryan Kehl and Jonathan Goff should give the Giants a solid, if not amazing, LB groups.

The secondary is a group I am also excited about. I think Ross will rebound a bit from a rough 2nd year. Ross' faults were, I think, exaggerated by the fact that Webster had such an amazing season that opposing QBs often went after Ross. Terrell Thomas has another year of experience under his belt and should be an excellent nickel back. He may even push Ross if he continues to struggle. The group that really excites me are the safeties. Phillips is starting and I am eager to see him display the talent that had him taken in the 1st round of the '08 draft.

The offense, however, has some question marks. I think the running back stable is just as good as it was with Ward due to the drafting of Andre Brown. The offensive line is still intact and now has the talented rookie William Beatty ready to spell either tackle, should the need arise.

Yet the running game is not truly fixed unless the passing game is up and running again. The running game last year was far more effective when teams put a safety over Burress and left only 7 in the box. The Giants have not replaced Burress in terms of talent, so they cannot reasonably expect their running game to function as though they have.

Having said all that, the WR corps is upgraded. Toomer is no longer a legit #2 option. Steve Smith and Domenik Hixon now have more experience and should improve. Hixon especially still has considerable upside. If Hakeem Nicks can contribute right away, the Giants should have some good production out of their passing game. Barden will be a redzone threat and I don't think will do much else this season.

Eli and Plax often appeared to be out of sync. Well now Eli has WR all younger than he is and is the unquestioned leader of this offense. If he can be more consistent, the Giants can win the NFC East. If he cannot, which will be most evident against the talented Philly defense, then the Giants must fight for a wildcard.

Took you all day to think of that one huh Sparky. We are gonna be in the playoffs. Book it. Yeah we lost my boy Plax, but look at what we brought in? More depth on d-line, speed at LB that we were lacking. Drafted two receivers that will come in and do their thing. Even though Barden and Nicks might now match Plax's impact on the field, the will be their own player. Don't sleep on the GMen

I think the Giants are gonna easily win the NFC East barring major injuries. Their defense is just frightening. If their DC who I know nothing about has any brains they should easily be top 5 defense.

Philly should have a good offense but I think their defense will be weak.

Cowboys have no receivers they better hope some one takes up the slack of losing TO and his ability to draw the double team.

Washington as long as Dan Snyder is their owner I don't have any worries about them they are sadly like the yankees over paid and lazy.
