Here's what I don't get...you call him a bust WITHOUT EVER SEEING HIM PLAY! Do you have any clue how assinine that is? You are arguing your right to be entitled to your opinion based on whatever you want to base it on (I guess actually watching him play isn't a good basis to form an opinion apparently) but then claim everyone else who actually likes Sanchez is drinking the "jets kool aid". ugh. Regarding whether or not I can tell if someone is going to be a good NFL QB I'll tell you this...the ONLY QB I've been wrong about over the last 5 or 6 years has been Matt Ryan.
So all the scouts that are paid for a living that had him ranked as a top 10 talent in this draft are wrong too? Only you are qualified to judge talent? Talent that you haven't even seen? You and your opinion are a joke.
So you are qualified to judge talent, but others are not? Are you an NFL scout? Hype means little, sure. But when most analysis has him as a top ten pick. Then there is more to it then just hype. But then again, you know it all because you can "see it a mile away". BTW, remember the hype Deion Sanders put on himself coming out? Worked pretty well for him.
You might consider going over to the draft thread and watching the clip of Phil Simms, who knows a thing or two about the game..... Simms says, it's not a contest between Stafford and Sanchez. He takes Mark without hesitation.
Ryan Leaf has a better arm than Joe Montana. You don't want noodle arm, but you don't need a laser either, a smart QB with a good arm that can make all the throws. Great.
The more I read this person's comments, the more I'm convinced he is a troll-comic genius. He writes not-so-subtle, purposely idiotic "opinions" in order to fire individuals up....and it works! Trying to refute his posts point by point is a waste of time, and it only cracks him up, I'm sure. At least, I HOPE that's what's going on, because otherwise he seems like a 4th-grader or a mildly retarded adult.
Being a troll in itself is retarded and a internet phenomenom (sp?). Can't have a normal conversation when there are people just there to be idiots.
You can see what a mile away? Can you cite anything to back up your argument? I will admit, I have not watched most of the available material of Sanchez from USC, but I'm not carrying some torch for him, either. I will bite when I see some results. But I see you fighting some crusade against him and I don't see you support your argument with anything but vague and concrete assertions, 'B U S T BUT BUST BUST' and all of that typical boring nonsense. Please, break down Sanchez's game for us, tell us hy he is doomed to failure. You keep telling people that they haven't seen him play as if you have... so you should have no trouble detailing why Sanchez is a bust, right? Back up your argument, because up until right now it is pathetically flimsy and stereotypical.
I really know that Mark Sanchez has the top-selling rookie jersey this year. If you don't think that had a minor effect on our trade up for him, you don't know Woody Johnson. Look, the reason Mark Sanchez was drafted so high isn't because he's a swell guy or a charmer. The reason he was drafted so high is because he is an extremely talented quarterback. The reason he may have fallen is because, with only one full season as a starter, he might have been an immature commodity. However, Sanchez, in interviews, dispelled that myth by demonstrating his maturity, intelligence and leadership qualities. Those qualities were emphatically reinforced by the media, and rightly so.
I know Sanchez is 15 & 1 in his starts & I watched him this year crush Penn State & Ohio State that does not seem like inferior talent to me.
I don't really think Penn St and Ohio St are in the same league as USC. The Big Ten aint what it used to be when it comes to football programs imo.
I did not have an opinion on him leading up to the 2006 NFL draft because I did not see him play. I do not like him now.
I am not just saying this to fire people up, its just a feeling I've had before the draft when all of sudden the guy was everwhere on TV with his smiling pretty face. Its just a gut feeling I've had. I hope I am wrong, I really do, but I am sticking by my feeling. I also think its irrelavent since Clemens will look great and clearly take the job. Make fun of me, whatever
Nah, I want a great QB, don't matter who it is. I just think Clemens, who was a 2nd rd. choice, learned under Chad and Favre, and worked in the same system for 3 years, deserverd a chance to play. I wonder why we even draft some guys.
A FEELING? Are you Spiderman or something? You are telling people to trust your judgment that he is a bust because you had a HUNCH? Your Koolaid talk is small-minded alarmist bullshit and should be treated as such.
