I had the Jets as two-point favorites, but it makes sense that they'd be four-point dogs with either a rookie QB (Mark Sanchez(notes)) or a bad mediocre QB (Kellen Clemens(notes)) likely starting under center.
I hope we give Kellen a chance to start the season n if he fails, develop Sanchez. Sanchez is not going to blow away the NFL just yet...
I disagree. you draft a QB that high to start right now. there is more to learn with a pass rush than a clip board.
If you think he can handle the job sure, but plenty of very good QB's have sat thier first, or at least part of thier first, year. If Sanchez comes into camp and wins the job then fine.
Its well known that Shott is gunning for a HC job. To get that the Jet offense has to look good, I expect there will be some tension between him and Rex regarding who starts.
^interesting prediction--could happen. Rex has been a prince towards him thus far. Hopefully, BS will be a good soldier. FWIW--start Sanchez from day 1.
i doubt it. rex is talking up sanchez big time right now, but he also wants to be successful as this will be his first year as a head coach. whoever performs better in camp will start. if sanchez is comparable to clemens obviously it would be a good idea to let him start.
