I know part of the contract was that if he ended up in Minnesota the Jets owed the Packers 3 1st round picks. I don't know the specifics of the language, however, and the Jets may not have any worries regarding him now that he's been released.

 

It was only if the Jets traded him to the Packers division. There was nothing about releasing him.

I don't understand the bashing of Favre at this point. He hasn't made any move to the Vikings, and we all know the media has a hard on for Favre at this point. Maybe, just maybe, the media is blowing this up more then what it really is.

It sounds like everyone is just pissed because he single handedly ruined our season last year. I understand the frustration, but a lot of these posts are a little over exaggerated. Calm down, he isn't here anymore, he can't hurt us again.

Save it for if he actually does sign with the Vikings. Then he officially becomes a complete, Tool.

 

If Favre comes back than it almost guarantees that he lied to the Jets to get released. I know that Woody and Tannenbaum are too in love with the guy to say anything and Favre fans will try to finesse the issue, but if he comes back than he did lie to the Jets and he cheated the Jets out of getting any sort of compensation for him. I understand that trading him to the Vikings would never happen, but if Favre would have said he wanted to play again there would have been some interest in him and some sort of trade value. The Jets would never get that third round pick back, but they could have gotten something.
