I have read everywhere that the Jets are definately going to draft a quarterback. I dont think we need one this year as well as many people on this board, but EVERYWHERE else people are saying yes. Wut is the total general view on the board?
I think we definetly need to draft a QB, at the very least to be a 3rd stringer. I'd like to get a QB of the future, I'd prefer Leinart, Young, or Cutler but I wouldn't mind getting Croyle later to back up Penny or Ramsey this year and be the future starter. I don't love Clemens or Whitehurst.
We need Croyle or a guy in the 3rd or 4th. If we can get a hold of Leinart, that would be great, but I wouldn't go too far out of my way for him.
I'm going to say draft someone else, but only because I don't think that we need a QB. If we could select Leinart it would certainly make me happy, but I have enough faith in Patrick Ramsey to wait on a Drew Stanton or a Brian Brohm next season.
Whitehurst is the 4th best QB and he has great size, strength and showed in the Senior Bowl he can play even better than Jay on a given day.
I like brodie Croyle in the 3rd round. I don't think we desprately need a qb. We need a RB more then a qb in my opinion. I want the jets top pick to be Mario Williams or AJ Hawk.

Why not Croyle? I wouldn't want whitehurst because he's comin off a shoulder surgery. Thats not a good thing when your young like him cause it will lead to more injuries later, and we really don't need another injury prone qb.
I'm as big a Pennington fan as anyone...But with his injuries, though flukeish, his sucessor needs to be had. This regime simply cannot look away from QB in a rebuilding stage...
i should have wrote the poll as top three qbs, other qbs, other positions that would have been more interesting as it seems that no one wants leinart which is what i thought
We need O-line help in the worst way. I would like to see us make at least our first two picks OL unless a Marnoey is avaiable at 29. I like Brodie Croyle from Bama. We should be able to get him with our first pick in the third round. but do we need him no. While we have a lot of needs I do not think we need to start behind center but along side center.
I dont think that it will make or break the draft if we dont select a QB. If one happens to be the BPA in the 4th rd +, then might as well give it a shot, but otherwise if we dont and take an extra lineman or WR or LB then I wont be dissappointed.
You can not build a team by waiting on next season. Any thing can happen, players get injured or we could not be in a position to draft Brohm or Stanton. I hope we are not in a position to draft Brady Quinn.
if we get a qb i would hope it to be Croyle, Klemens, or Omar Jacobs. if we didnt draft a qb this yr though, i wouldnt be furious.
I have been wanting to see a poll of all TGG members and see what the end result was. Not just QB's but all positions and the complete first rd. All we see is specialized polls-Which QB?-Mario or Brick?-etc. I want Young at 1 but if he and Matt are both there and we do pick one I think it will be Leinart. That's assuming Mangini wants to build the team along the lines of the Pats but you never know. I don't think we touch Cutler unless we trade down.
I'm so torn on this subject it's not funny. On one hand I'd like to see if Penny can come back, and if he can't I would definately like to give Ramsey a shot. Then again they could both turn out to be shit-sniffers and we'd be pissed we didn't draft a qb this draft. I guess I'd grab a qb. We have a snatchload of picks this year so what the hell.
If we were going to draft a QB What the heck did we get Ramsey for? We have three QBs on the roster all of whom have been starters and two of whom are former first round draft picks. We need to address other problem areas.
