Seeing as it's for rookies only and we don't have any rookie wr's,who is he going to throw too?Are going to line up the several UDFA TE out wide?
they get a bunch of players from tiny schools, who are just used for camps and have no chance of making the team or really even the practice squad.
You never know what can happen with these small town guys though, bring them in to make up the numbers and you could potentially find a diamond in the rough. Looking forward to seeing all the guys out there, and hopefully there will be a fair few insightful interviews during the three days. I hope they are asked better questions, and not just how it feels to be a Jet. Getting pretty sick of those kind of questions.
here is a list of the WRs that will be at the mini camp: Britt Davis WR Northern Illinois 6'3" 205 Kenny O'Neal WR Florida State 6'1" 195 Ottis Lewis WR Hofstra 6'6" (big guy) 205 i think i also read that henry will be there also
Sanchez makes Jets debut at rookie camp May 1, 2009 Coming to you live from the Jets' fieldhouse in Florham Park, N.J., where Mark Sanchez is making his Jets debut. A quick evaluation: he throws a nice, tight spiral with noticeable zip. He can complete the 15 to 20-yard sideline routes with no problem. Still haven't seen him throw a long ball, but he definitely has a fastball on the intermediate routes. His ball placement is slightly off, but that could be due to rust. Accuracy is supposed to be his strong suit. He just hit a deep seam to a wide-open Marcus Henry, a 64-yard touchdown. The other thing that jumps out about Sanchez is his size. He measured at 6-2 1/8, and that might have been on his tippy toes. There's no pass rush here, so there's no way to tell if he'll have a problem getting it over the rush. http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/jets/
Cimini is such a moron. The dude is a legit 6'2. I wonder if he still thinks Shonn Green doesn't get tough yards. Also, I heard yesterday they invited a bunch of 1st year guys. For those worrying about WR's.
yeah, they should tell Cimini that the measurements at the combine are precise. He could be such a better reporter but he chooses not to do it.
How can you not worry about the wr corps? They didn't scare anyone last year and that was before Coles left.
I don't know if he could be. In the last week he has reported that Shonn Greene was not a physical runner, that Andrew Davie was 29, the only thing he said about the Emanuel Cook signing was that he had been arrested (no mention of his college career), and now his write up on Sanchez questions his height when he should know combine measurements are accurate. I know I posted the blurb, but it's amazing how uninformed this guy can be.
You misread what I said...Trust me I'm worried about someone catching the ball. Someone mentioned that there was no one to throw to in camp. I was letting them know that they are bringing in guys from last year.
this is extremely important... those two minute drills will ask for him to make a lot of those throws. The fact that he can do it without difficulty is music to my ears. perfect for that game manager role, plus being a leader and being clutch. The trifecta for what Ryan is going to ask of his QB.
