No DE, No WR. High gamble on the QB position. I feel that ZERO needs of this team have been comfortably met. D
F F F F F F F Sanchez only has 16 career starts, I don't even need to give him a chance he's gonna suck. Kenyon Coleman sucked and was a waste of a roster spot a few weeks ago but the more I think about we never should traded him....ever. And Brett Ratliff's preseason bombs showed me everything I needed to know about the guy. Shonn Greene was a waste of a pick, we want to be a running team which obviously means we need to have 28 WR's on the roster I never even heard of that last guy we drafted
Easy A, we made a great trade for Sanchez. When was not getting a QB with in the top 10 not a gamble. But something that needs to be done to get a true talent QB. We can mess with late round QBs, even 2nd round QB, and we might not hit for a century. You want a champion QB it was a gamble we had to take.
B+. We got our guys in Sanchez and Greene although it cost us a lot. The Sanchez deal was great and I have no qualms with it but I thought moving up for Greene with our 4th rounder was a bit costly considering we already gave up our 2nd rounder and the 4th round has been magic for us the past couple of years. I'm really happy we managed to move up so far for Sanchez without giving up high picks next year. We still have a huge hole a WR but that can always be addressed before the season starts (June 1st cuts should bring some more FAs to the table) and next year's draft seems to be loaded with talent at the position. Nothing wrong with picking up OL depth in the later rounds.
I am going to give it an A- I am happy Tanny and Crew decided to take a shot and go with Sanchez. The guy clearly has it, besides the obvious talent and dealings with a pro offense. He has the intangables and the media already loves him. We might have reached a bit to grab greene but we know now the direction of our football program. The run game will set up the pass. And if Sanchez can deliver our team will be great. It is never bad to draft O-line depth. I dont care who it is. Now we must address our other concerns (DE, Blocking TE) in the FA market.
B- Great trade trade for Sanchez. Good move by taking Greene but I think we gave away too much (at least kep the 7th rounder) and maybe he would've dropped to us. No Idea who Slauson is but it's Callahan calling the shots for the o-line so I'm ok with that. That would be an B+ but we didn't satisfy our depth needs so it's a B-... now let's see who we bring in as a FA...
Well... I guess its good you aren't the GM. You rather have Ratliff because he "showed (you) everything" about him because of the 3rd quarter of the preseason bombs... Based on what you saw in the 3rd quarter of the preseason, we should trust your opinion over the FO. Horrible pick... Ratliff should be our QB... lol.
B+ I would have preferred a WR over Greene, but I have a feeling TJ is going to be packing his bags before the season starts.
Here's what I say. Trading up for Sanchez: B+ Trading up for Greene: D Picking Slauson: C Not addressing the majority of our needs: F Averages out to about a C-
B I like all the picks, but the fact that we only had three selections is a bit worrying. Green is solid, Slauson a good depth pick. The trade up for Sanchez was an absolute steal, and even thought Sanchez was very convincing in his interviews and his reaction when he heard he was drafted by us was the very warm, I still have little doubt in him and his starting experience, only 16 starts in college. But the final grade for this draft can be given after this class has been three years in the league.
are you fucking serious?? man...i think you need to crawl back and hide in the NCAA/March Madness thread.
Great draft players wise. Only reason I gave it a A- is because we only drafted 3 players and I would've like to maybe take Gilbert instead of Greene. I like Greene too, but we gave up 2 other picks for him, so I'll say A-. Love Sanchez, and really like Greene and Slauser.
I gave a B+, Sanchez is the future of this franchise. This whole criticism of only having 16 starts is ridiculous. Matt Cassel started 0 games in college and look what he is doing now. Being a QB at USC is not the same thing as coming from other colleges. He has 4 years experience working in a pro style offense, that is something that Matt Stafford cannot say. He was coached by guys that continually produce great NFL talents year after year. When you go to USC you are competing with the best all year long, and to make it seem like he is some deer in the headlights QB is completley false. He is a natural born leader and that is something that cannot be coached no matter how many college starts someone has.
