Steven A. asks why should the Jets pick you over an Offensive Tackle?
He says that same question was asked by Magini as well as How would it be if the we went Offensive Tackle instead of you how would you feel?

Vernon says that you can get an Offensive Tackle, but you can't get me, someone who will make it easier for the QB to spot. An Offensive Tackle is great but who is your QB going to throw to? If you pick me, you will get someone who will create matchup problems no matter where you place me. I can run over people as well as run past them. In essence I am a multi position player.

You have to like his interview tactics.

After the interview Steven A. Smith said I've watched the guy play and he is gonna be a stud, but the Jets should go Offensive Tackle first. His counterpart says, yeah the Jets need to protect the QB, but where are you gonna find someone like him?
Number 4 is high, but he isn't going past 8, so do you pass on a guy like this when the Jets have 9 picks in this draft?

    I agree...
If we had just 2 or 4 picks, I wouldn't take him, but we have nine....
We have options and with the depth that is out there, we have plenty of options.....

He will be gone by the #6 pick guaranteed and he could easily go at #5. We can't really trade down to get him unfortunately.

Best case scenario. We trade the #4 for the #6 so San Fran can take Brick or Hawk.

Steven A. Smith doesn't know anything about football. This is the same JO who was on the sports reporters and said in regards to the chargers jets game that the team should have kicked the field goal on third down that way if they missed they could kick it again on 4th down.

This kid sounded like a fool. He's "elusive" and "explosive" his answer for everything.

Plus he is Gates and Gonzalez combined....please dont draft him.

    Let Me Guess
You want a QB with the 4th pick, right?
If you watched anything on him, he is both of those things, ELUSIVE and EXPLOSIVE.....
How is that sounding like a fool?
Don't worry, just get NFL Sunday Ticket and you can watch Matt Leinhart with the Titans..

I disagree. If leinart and mario williams are gone then were looking at Davis Dbrick Young or Hawk and personally out of them id take davis since our offense is way behind our defense in terms of skill. We can always get a OT with the 29th or 35th like eric winston who could turn out to be better then Dbrick.

This is who i see as the best players for us based on our most important needs.
1)Mario Williams(best player in the draft idc if bush will be 1st pik williams is the best talent)
2)Vernon Davis(instant offensive playmaker, something we lack)
3)Young(forget about all the tests and crap and just look at what hes done. He has a tremendous arm and is very accurate, who cares if his throwing motion is awkward, he gets the ball from point A to point B. He also won a national championship basically single handedly.)

we can do double TE sets or have him split to wideout when we decide to have baker in at TE. he has the skill and physical tools to split out, but he has maximum impact as a TE. he will draw double teams and improve the play of our WR's.

I'd love to have this guy on our team. He's an instant weapon on our offense, and gives us our much needed playmaker. There is not one player on our offense that scares the opponent's defense, and you need a guy like that to be a successful NFL team. The Jets should take:

    1) Bush
    2) Williams
    3) Hawk or Davis

We don't need to take a first round QB this season, OT can be taken with #29. I'll let the team decide on whether to take Hawk or Davis. I'd be delighted with either.

no matter who it is, taking a TE in the top 10 is rediculous

Why? You wouldn't take Gates, Gonzalez, or Shockey in the top 10?

I'm not saying Davis will definitely be like those guys, but the potential is definitely there.

Not to mention the much larger holes we have

Why wouldn't you take gonzalez or shockey in the top 10? They are game changing players and bring their offense to a whole new level. What makes them drop out of the top 10?

I understand that we have holes, but at #4, you take the BPA. We can use the rest of the draft to fill our holes.

who's to say that he's BPA? Leinart is my number 1 overall player, and he may be avalable. We have 2 TE's that are capable of starting, they may not be great but it certainly doesn't warrant taking a TE #4 overall

How is an instant upgrade to you TE, QB, and WR positions not worth a top 10 pick?
