Mark Sanchez's agent? No it's not Tom Condon or any other high-profile 'squeeze-every-penny' out a team or threaten a hold-out agent. Sanchez's agent is... his brother. Mark decided to hire his brother as his agent, who has no experience representing NFL players. This could spell good news for us as the Jets may be able to leverage and get a good deal contract-wise for Sanchez, and do it quickly with the unexperienced family member handling his negotiations. This likely means Sanchez will be in camp day 1, and getting all the reps he needs.

That actually is great to hear, I was worried he might have some Scott Boras type agent.

EDIT: Never mind, Ok, now I remember Mayock said he had the same agent as Kellen.

Wikipedia says it's his brother Nick.

I think Sanchez was answering more toward the competition with Clemens than to having the same agent. I think he was answering a different question.

The reporter interviewing him opened with a question about whether it was awkward that he and Clemens were represented by the same agent. That sounds like they share representation.

Did you bother reading the link? Nick is his agent and Dunn is an advisor.

The group his brother works for is more of a boutique type of agency. He'll have advisers all around him, they have a training group devoted just to their clients. It's not a one to one kind of relationship. He just went with them because of his brother.

Does not matter, we are going to tie him up for at least 5 years, $30 million guaranteed and maybe up to $50 million with incentives. Don't care if his mother is his agent.

Agents loan money to the top players as part of the representation deal. A big part of which agent gets which player is how much money he offers to loan him upfront. These players have pockets full of cash from the day they sign with an agent. In order to compete in this business, you have to have money to offer the players. If MS signed with a nobody it means he got no money, I doubt that happened. Didn't any of you hear the story about how Texas coach Mack knew Vince Young was going pro when he saw him in a stretch limo? Think about that. VY grew up in the ghetto, where's the limo money coming from?
