Anybody want to pop in on the Browns boards and tally up the death threats?

Wow. We got the 5 for WAY less than it should have gone for.

I think it was a steal, Eric wants some of his old players and he got them, all it cost us really was a 2nd rounder. Gholston will start at DE and hopefully show why he was a 4th overall pick. Ratliff is automatically replaced with the pick and Elam is very replaceable.

Best draft day trade we have ever made, I am so happy we did this.

No way the Redskins offer wasn't better. No way we outbid Snyder with this.

And somehow certain Jet fans are acting like morons acting like they somehow gave up too much.... What a joke.

Mangini left amicably - so the Jets got a friend price

This is the best thing Mangini ever did for us, he is back in good graces with me.

The more I look at what the Jets gave up, it isn't so bad. Assuming Sanchez isn't a complete bust.

I didn't want to trade up at all but I had no idea the price was going to be just a 1st and a 2nd for a potential franchise QB.

Ratliff may be decent and obviously Mangini thinks so, more power to both of them in that regard. Coleman is a rotational end in a 3-4, nothing more than that. Elam is a backup.

I thought we were going to have to give up the 17, Harris and a 2nd next year plus maybe a late pick this year. That would have been way too much to pay for Sanchez.

Both the Jets and the Browns made out well in that trade. The Browns got 2 starters, a backup QB, and an additional 2nd round pick for moving down 12 spots in the draft

I just looked at a Browns message board and they think they're the ones who ripped us off in this trade. lol.

Agreed...just like the Patsies helped out Pioli in K.C.

I like the pick, sad to see Ratliff go, but I'm sure we got the better deal.

We had the deal with Cleveland in place.

Then we made the public deal with Jacksonville.

Danny Boy was probably snookered into trying to trade into 6 or 7.

We got the likely #1 pick in the 2010 draft if he'd stayed in school, and only gave up a 2nd. If we were at 17 next year, and Sanchez had stayed in the draft and we wanted to trade up for him, it would've taken what we gave up, probably plus a third and a future first.

Not really. We gave up a 2nd round pick, our starting DE, secondary depth, and a backup QB. Not to say it was too much, but we now have more holes to fill!

Yeah, this was a great move for both teams. I can't imagine that the Browns fans are real upset about this.

Forgetting about Sanchez for a moment, it would be really nice to have that 2nd round pick we just gave up to CLE.

those holes were already filled by the following signings... Marques Douglas, Leonard and our 3rd string QB, I really don't consider that a whole to fill, sorry, just me, cus my feeling is if he hits the field we got real issues somewhere else.

so we gave up a 2nd rounder and guys who were being phased out anyway to move to # 5 and get a possible franchise QB.

Great Trade... now lets hope he pans out

According to the PVC, the #5 pick was worth 1700 points. Our two picks were worth 1320, which means that we were 380 points short. 380 points is the 52nd pick, a mid-second rounder; aka a 2010 first. So basically we got to trade 3 backups instead of a 2nd round pick/2010 first. This was a huge steal. The three guys we traded combined were probably worth a 4th at best.

As soon as Moreno went off the board at 12, anyone who questioned the move should have immediately been satisfied that we made a good move.
