I want Mark Sanchez to fall to 8 -- I want him to be the next Jets' quarterback. IMO, Mike Crab will bust...I hope Oakland takes him. His douche-baggish attitude would fit perfectly in the Raiders' locker room.
I'm starting to get the sinking feeling that we are coming out of the first round with a QB of some sort- either Freeman or Sanchez. Oh well, hope he works out, whoever it is. One of them must have damn near given a BJ to someone in the front office according to most reports because they apparently have a boner for Sanchez..........if you believe all the reports. Hell, I don't know. I do get a kick out of the Jets fans' reactions at the draft. They get fired up over anything.
i honestly think it's a smoke screen in regards to sanchez. I do not think they'll take him if they trade up. I believe it will be maclin at 8. And i would be VERY happy with that
Everybody who has interviewed Sanchez has a boner for him at this point. He apparently interviews very well. The lack of experience thing is way overblown. Sanchez was at USC for FOUR years. What he gave up was his fifth year in the program and second year as a starter. Put another way: if Sanchez had stayed at USC this year he'd have been 24 years old early in his first NFL season. Pete Carroll got pissy because he thought he was going to have the perfect QB next year with an older more mature guy leading the show and hungry to show his talent. Sanchez looked at this year's QB class and next years and said "sorry coach I'm going out where the money is likely to be." I like Pete Carroll but he embarrassed himself with the clinging to Sanchez.
Sorry if this was mentioned already, but have the jets discussed what were giving up to trade with the jags, if we like who they have?
It's reality. We didn't improve the team's performance by trading up for Revis. In fact we missed the playoffs for the first time in consecutive years since 2000.
Gosh. When will the Jets learn? You need value and draft picks to build a team, not single players. Look at the most successful team (Pats, Giants, Steelers) thats the formula. I hope this is not true.
The Jets will learn when Bradway and Tannenbaum have finally exited the building. That may or may not happen and the Jets may or may not become a model franchise at some point in the next decade. Right now they're the team that other good NFL GM's snicker about, much like the Redskins.
You also could say all three have a quarterback, and we don't. The Pats lucked into Brady, the Giants moved up a ton of picks to get Eli, and the Steelers took Ben pretty high in round one.
I like Sanchez too... I'm just afraid we'll give away the house for him :S... Anything more than a 1st a 2nd will compromise our goal to add depth to the team.
Exactly. Revis is great and I like Sanchez and Crabtree as prospects. But if they keep trading away picks our team will eventually be sprinkled with great players at a handful of positions and nothing everywhere else.
Good news for me because: 1. I have to be at work at 6pm 2. My last name is Sanchez and i would go out and buy my first and last authentic jersey. Bust or not.
You'd trade two+ draft picks to take a guy who does not rush the passer well? That's kind of belying your tag there.
