I don't get why people make such a big deal about "the highest deal in history." Do I think Boldin merits a record breaking deal... No. However we all have to keep on mind that this is 2009 and were gonna be hearing this "record breaking deal" nonsense for years and years to come. Inflation is a real mofo.
My point is there is an NFL salary cap, and we cant afford to give him that much money. and secondly, Boldin is not the best reciever in the game, hell he isnt even the best reciever on his team! and that would make it ok to give him a better contract than Randy Moss? Terrel Owens? Larry Fitzgerald? Andre Johnson? Calvin Johnson? Hell No! Boldin just isnt worth it. While the pick package is cheaper, there is a reason no NFL team made a formal offer for Boldin, its because his demands are insane, not to mention he is 29, and he hasnt played 16 games in 3 years, oh and his physical style of play shortens his career every time he touches the ball. He is not worth 10 million a year!!!
I think about seven million a year will get Boldin done if most is ggarranteed. We would have to go higher than what Coles got by Cincy
Boldin wants a deal similar to Fitzgerald, which is 4 years, 40 million with a 15 million dollar signing bonus.
Palantonio just reported on ESPN that Tanny just told him that the Jets will look to move up. Unless it is for Sanchez, I think that is a dumb move as their are too many holes on this team for that.
