i think it's worth keeping D'Wayne if and only if he restructers by the end of this year (unless he has a crazy season) i cant say he is a bust YET, but he's running out of time. He seems to be progressing, and i do agree that he needs a better NT next to him. He has become too much of a space eater to actually make an impact, but he still hasn't lived up to that #4 overall and that monster contract that bradway was stupid enough to give him.
D'wayne will be a very good player all he needs is a good player next to him instead of all those backups we played by him in 05, he got doubled teamed alot lost year.
I actually agree with hydro. hmy: The guy is a solid player, but was he worth 2 1st rd (and a 4th) rd draft picks + a fat signing bonus? NO WAY! back to back workout warrior drafts (B Thomas) :shit:
I think the term bust is used a little too liberally towards Robertson. Is he the next Saap or worth the high cost? No he wasn't, but he is an above average starter at DT. Considering the cost Robertson's a disapointment, but not a bust. Bryan Thomas on the other hand....
Also why in the hell did we ever draft Bryan Thomas, John Abraham and Ellis were there already and were proven players we could have goten Ed Reed with that pick.
Bryan Thomas you will never get an argument outa me for that pick. No idea wtf they were thinking there.
I just read on JI from that guy Bongo that the Jets are trying to trade DROB to the Texans for D Davis and to Denver for Lelie and a 4. I am not sure what i think about this guy but i thought you guys would like to know. I'd take Davis in a second. What do you guys think?
I swear if the Jets FO is really this active with all these rumors I guarantee Mrs Mangini and Mrs Tannebaum have not gotten any the past couple weeks. Like the Mick (Rocky) said woman make you weak... A couple more days and this pain will hopefully subside...
My feeling as of right now, i like ngata better than robertson in a 4-3 and a 3-4, robertson has been ok, and ok is not good enough at his price, either let's trade robertson or restructure his deal so that he can be cut next year if he does not play to his potential.
I think your all forgetting that Robertson is still really young (24 i beleive). Maybe he has not lived up to his full potential yet, but I definently wouldn't label him as a bust. Were going to be running a new defense this year and maybe he will benefit from it. I say atleast give the guy one more year to prove himself.
THAT my friend is absolutely FALSE..... On the day of the draft maybe people were happy but, Bradway already sold the farm and it would have been the biggest embarrassment in draft history if DROB wasn't there atthat point.... That was a HORRIBLE trade - As a #4 Draft pick, it wasn't bad but, for TWO 1st round picks PLUS.... I KNOW people were upset - I was - Not sure if we can search back that far but, I know where I stood - PISSED OFF.
In terms of sack production (I know sacks aren't everything), DRob was progressing at the same pace (age-wise) as Sapp did until last year, when one could argue that a combination of lax coaching, no Ferguson, and perhaps poor self-discipline as well resulted in a dismal year for DRob. DRob has neither proven himself to be an elite player nor a bust. I'd consider 2006 to be his year of judgement.
