take this for what its worth but this guy writes for the ranchreport.com...who my cowboy fan buddy says doesnt just write nonsense...of courFirst of all, I wouldn't post anything like this if it didn't have legs. A real good friend of mine, fellow cowboy supporter, and current NFL scout called me this morning with the following details: Over the last 4 days, cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Coach Bill Parcells have been working hard on a potential trade involving the number 18 overall pick in this year's draft. My friend tells me that since last Friday morning, he can CONFIRM that the Cowboys have come into contact with the Buccaneers, Chiefs,Jets and the Jaguars about the possibility of swapping draft picks. He then went on to tell me that a successful trade scenario is contingent on the likes of Santonio Holmes, Ernie Simms, and/or Manny Lawson being on the board at 18. He also went on to say that a friend of his that currently works as assistant public relations director for the Jacksonville Jaguars told him that if Florida State OLB Ernie Simms is still on the board at #18, then there is ALREADY a deal in place that would involve Dallas and Jacksonville exchanging Draft Picks. Now I haven't been a fan of Trading out of 18, but I am slowly growing on to this idea. And I trust my friend's informations and take it as truth with little to no skepticism. Of course I don't expect you all to do the same, but as I said I wouldn't waste my time typing hot air. Over the last 2 months nearly a million posts have been dedicated to a trade scenario moving dallas out of the #18 spot........ You guys may finally get what you want. se that and a 50 cents will get ya a cup of coffee
ok i screwed that up like a mongoloid....im gonna killed for this one..hahah but check out my meadow avatar....ignore the bottom part i tried to edit......i left out the whole trade.hahaha the jets would give up the 29 and 71 picks for the 18
I was about to ask what this has to do with but i see u covered it , i dont know id probably do it though if we could get manny lawson
Brick @ #4 or Trade #4 for #7 and #38 and go BPA @ #7 ---- #29/#71 (3rd rounder) for #18 (presumably: Manny Lawson) ---- Where does that leave us? Round One #7 D'Brickshaw LT (I know there are many scenarios that he doesn't drop to us...) #18 Manny Lawson OLB/DE Round Two #35 Davin Joseph OG #38 Charlie Whitehurst QB (I would prefer Joseph Addai or a DB here... ) Round Three #97 Babatunde Oshinowo NT Another Scenario I like: Round One #7 Vernon Davis TE (I know there are many scenarios that he doesn't drop to us...) #18 Manny Lawson OLB/DE Round Two #35 Eric Winston OT #38 Davin Joseph OG Round Three #97 Babatunde Oshinowo NT (or a QB/RB) Finally: Round One #7 Haloti Ngata NT (I know there are many scenarios that he doesn't drop to us...) #18 Manny Lawson OLB/DE Round Two #35 Eric Winston OT #38 Davin Joseph OG Round Three #97 QB? RB?
read his post again...he was playing out a scenario in which the jets trade from 4 to 7 and get a second rounder in return
Another Scenario I like: Round One #7 Vernon Davis TE (I know there are many scenarios that he doesn't drop to us...) #18 Manny Lawson OLB/DE Round Two #35 Eric Winston OT #38 Davin Joseph OG Round Three #97 Babatunde Oshinowo NT (or a QB/RB) [/QUOTE] This is my favorite. I'm not sure if Winston will be there at 35. We might have to take Joseph at 35 and someone like Whitworth or Colledge at 38, which I would still think is really good.

I also like Winston at #35 but would prefer Marcus Mcneil at #38 and then Jerious Norwood at #97 followed by a QB in the 4th(One out of Croyle, Jacobs, Whitehurst and Clemens should fall to the 4th round).
Mine too, I can not take it anymore, I just want it to be over and have some guys that I know the names of drafted int he first 3 rounds
Since I seriously doubt one of the top 3 OLB's will be around at #29, I am in favor of trading up for Lawson, especially if it only costs #71 and they trade down from #4.

I like John Jolly from Texas A&M better. And for some reason I don't think Winston will be there I feel like the giants are going to grab him since they signed Arrington and are our of the linebacker sweepstakes.
That trade would be a net of 25 points for the Jets per the Draft Value chart Jets #29 & 71 875 points Dallas #18 900 points What no talk on Ernie Sims at #18 if we did this trade the guy would be a beast at OLB
I like the trade with the raiders better, i think the deal with the raiders is on standby depending on what happens with mario williams... If he is gone jets will trade with the raiders.
Sims is a beast, but I don't think he's a great fit for a 3-4 defense. If they were still playing the Herm Cover 2 I'd agree with you about Sims at 18, though I doubt he'll last that long.
