http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=clayton_john (it's ESPN Insider, which I don't have, but a friend sent this to me)

Personally, I'd give up the first for him, but I'd have to say no to a first and third, especially for a 29-year-old, injury prone wide receiver. I'd rather have Bolden that DHB or whoever else we'd take at 17 though. Our first rounder is about 10 spots higher than the Ravens' is, so maybe they'd accept a first and future third. Interesting, to say the least.

I'd rather trade up for Sanchez then trade for Boldin. I like Boldin alot but he reminds me too much of Cotchery, albeit much better.

Sanchez could be our future franchise QB and if there's an opportunity to make the move, we have to, IMO.

what good will Boldin do without a QB? That being said a guy like Boldin would certainly make Kellen Clemens, Brett Ratliff or whomever's job easier when you add a pro bowl caliber WR to your team

If the Ravens set the bar at just a 1st, offer them a 1st and a 6th. See what happens.

Not even a 6 - our first rounder is much higher than Baltimore's. If the Ravens are only willing to give up a first, we shouldn't have to give up much more either...

I just don't like how at the very end of that statement it randomly says "Jets heavily Involved in Boldin talks", I just don't think Boldin will land here.

Good point, I didn't think of that. Maybe the extra pick would put them over the edge to do the deal before Baltimore sweetens the offer though ...

we weren't interested in T.O., we weren't interested in Holt, we aren't interested in Edwards.... why the hell should we care about Boldin?!!?!? Plus with what money do we grant him 8-9mill per year while resigning Leon and Nick? no way....

How this for a wicked idea....

    Jets give 17 and 52

    Jets Recieve Anquan Boldin, #31

    According to the value chart, Jets give 950 + 380 = 1330

Jets recieve 600 + Anquan Boldin. essentially this equates to Boldin being equal to 730 value points, or the #24 overall pick in the draft.

Baltimore has the #25 pick which they want to flip straight up for Boldin..... sounds pretty even overall to me. Maybe we need to throw in a future 5 or something, but on the whole that is a trade I much prefer to just giving straight up value.

Edit: for whatever reason, I was thinking Zona had pick 29, which is wrong, they actually have pick #31.

I would say if Sanchez drops out of the top ten we should trade up in front of Denver or with the Broncos themselves and grab Sanchez. If we decide to stay pat at 17 I like Pettigrew. Or trade the pick for Anquan Boldin and make it a conditional pick next year that can be as high as a third round pick. If we trade down I can see us taking Freeman. That is my draft stradegy.

I'd give them our first, but I want their 3rd back. ITS THE 17th PICK! Maybe the prime spot in the draft. Then give him a fat contract? Mikey T aint that dumb.

Had a conversation today with someone who works for the Jets...sorry can't say more than that or I could lose my job...anyway, this deal is a VERY real possibility

Not that I think the Jets are going to make a real push for Boldin, but right now he's better than anyone you named.

I don't think it would be in our best interest. He would improve our passing game but considering his age and the fact that he had fitz on the other side he is not worth the pick. I would rather get Cleveland's #17, he had an off year but in 2007 he looked damn good.

Anquan Boldin was successful before Larry Fitzgerald was a Cardinal...also, he's better than Braylon Edwards.
