Saw the pre draft transcript on Bolands blog. After this retard architected the trade up to #4 for Dewayne Robertson, who was the ultimate bust I cant believe he was not held accountable and relieved from the entire "scouting" set of responsibilities a long time ago. Think about what we gave up for him.....what a waste and sack of shit this guy is. More and more from my vantage point this is looking like a trade back year. Phi wants Moreno bad as B Westbrook is now 30 yrs old. They pick at 21, we should trade back 4 spots and pick up another 3rd or possibly second depending on what the trade analyzer tells you. At 21 the same players we coveted at 17 should still be there.
hahahaha I knew something was wrong with the Title. The good news is that he makes no final decisions anymore... the bad news is that he is here. The only positive spin I can put on this is that maybe the dude has enough knowledge about prospects to be valuable, but he's dangerous when his finger is on the trigger. He can't handle that seat in the war room.
I was about to go off on one lol glad that i caught the admission of the mistake first. Not only Robertson but he traded our first round pick for Jolley......WTF, glad he is not making the decisions any more. Not sure what happened to the college scouts who advised him that Robertson was worth that 4th pick.
Was is tannenbaum that let Coles go to Washington, picked Santana Moss in the first round, then traded Santana Moss for Coles.....because that was brilliant, few GMs could pull that off??? What about Chad to the Dolphins.......for nothing.....why get a pick, and send Chad to KC or Minnesota?
Terry Bradway is a glorified scout. No harm in him being on staff. He was horrid as a GM, but as a scout he is fine. No need to bitch.
Man, I was about to rip you a new orafice! Truth is, every single team in the NFL (or just about) had DRob as the best DL in that draft. Sometimes players just bust.
That was Bradway with the Coles and the rest of the Jetskins crew, and Mike T explained what happened with the Pennington situation, it was a 24 hour turnaround, he had to be off the roster, there wasn't time to negotiate a deal.
Some people are unbelieveable. Bradway was not a good gm. He was too much of a scout to handle the position. He overanalyzed draft boards, overpaid players, and fell in love w/ combine numbers. All scouts do this..but there's a reason many of them never get much further within franchises. He is however a very good player evaluator. As for D rob...he wasn't worth the trade..but keep in mind the guy started virtually every game for 4 straight years at a position that we had NO stability at before he arrived. He had some VERY good games..and if not for the knee condition and Mangini's scheme change..he may still be here playing at a pro bowl level.
The Robertson move turned out to be a bad one as he couldn't overcome injury BUT the Jolley trdae was a GREAT one, it led to us getting Kerry Rhodes. Everyone loved Robertson in the '03 draft, unfortunately he only played like a top 5 pick in 1 season(2004).
He didn't let Coles go, Wash signed him to a ridiculous offer and Coles never gave the Jets a legit chance to keep him. He did draft Moss and we replaced Coles w/ Moss and were w/in a missed kick of the '04 title game. he traded Moss b/c of duability issues and Coles was again very good for us. Tannenbaum let Chad go BUT he didn't have much of a choice. We had until 4PM the next day to shed his cap # and teams knew that. I suppose he could have given him to anyone for a conditional pick but accoridng to most on here Chad sucked so why would he care? The mistake wasn't allowing Chad to go to Miami it was getting favre and releasing Chad.
