John Madden retires

    He didn't call many Jet games through the years but my 2 favorite were probably '82 vs. TB at Shea and '04 at SD in the WC game.

    well knowing his love of Brett Favre, it would not surprise me to see him come back

    I think Cris Collinsworth is a great choice to replace Madden. But I think Herman Edwards would do a fantastic job as an Analyst and I think would take the place of Madden in terms of the legendary type broadcaster.

    Herm could take the place of the post 2000 Madden just fine but it is an insult to the pre 2000 Madden to think Herm could replace him.

    That TB game was when he was being pelted with snowballs by the fans while he announced the game in the open booth and then at the end of the game mugged for the cameras by throwing one back.......

    I also remember him announcing the Eric Allen game in 1993 and spending at least a third of the game discussing the sunset and showing it's path on his instant replay with the magic marker........

    Yep, I believe that 1993 game was the last time he and Summeral called a Jet game.

    No more Favre.... now no more Madden. There goes 50% of Frank Caliendo's act. :eek:hmy: lol
