Difference of opinion. I am not going to get into why I think Chrebet was great for the Jets again. I had a sensible discussion about Jets receivers in a different thread and it is all a matter of opinion... who was good, who was mediocre, etc. Chrebet and Wesley Walker were my favorite Jets recievers. But don't tell me why I liked the guy. That's crap. I like Chrebet for a lot of the same reasons I like Curtis Martin and they don't look alike or any of that crap. Don't tell me what I am overlooking. I thought he was a great Jets receiver, and don't consider his career mediocre. Personally and this is just me, but I don't necessarily like gaudy stats. I like toughness, scarifice, good blocking, less celebration, guts things like that. Maybe someone like you just likes 1000 yard seasons and that's fine too. He was not Jerry Rice but Chrebet was productive too, not as a deep threat, but he did his job. Nothing to do with ethnicity or look or any of that crap. How many times did he make the catch on 3rd and 4th down? That's why I liked him.

not for nothing...... but I am not italian and I am offended by these obviuosly biased sounding remarks...

Chrebet did himself and every italian, irish, jewish, polish, black, hispanic american proud.

He beat the odds and was a success.

Yes, ironically, his last catch was on third down that gave us a first down.

1 would think that the 1 thing we all on this board shared and have in common was the love and appreciation for Jets football.

Ironically, (misplaced)racial bias against a white football player would be the last thing I would expect to find here..

now Vince Young on the other hand.... that I would've expected.
