They have a monster mock draft for us, I'd be thrilled if the draft goes this well but I doubt it. http://www.thefootballexpert.com/mockdraft.html

17- Chris Wells RB Ohio State

52- Jarron Gilbert DE San Jose St.

76- Ramses Barden WR Cal Poly

    115- Trevor Canfield G Cincinnati

193- Nathan Brown QB Central Arkansas

228- Bear Pascoe TE Fresno St.

    Opinions?

Take away the QB and I could live with it.

I like Knowshon more then Beanie because of injury concerns though.

Replace Wells with Moreno and I'd consider that as close to perfect as I've seen. I wouldn't mind Beanie, his injury concerns just scare me. Other than straight line speed, Moreno can do everything, which would work very well in our offense.

I like this, where does he have Knowshon going? I think it would be hard to decide between Wells and Knowshon if BOTH are there at 17.

I don't know about a Jets fan. He's got the Pats going Clay Matthews, James Laurinitis, Patrick Chung, Duke Robinson, Chase Coffman, and Kevin Ogletree in the first 3 rounds.

I do like our picks, though. I'd likely prefer Moreno and Murphy over Wells and Barden, but that draft would make me very, very happy. I'm also not sure Gilbert drops to us in the 2nd. I'd imagine Beli picks him up with one of his 2 2nd rounders ahead of ours, at least partly to spite us.

Canfield dropping to the 4th bewilders the shit outta me, and I would love for that to be the Pats' draft. They could do so much better than that that it isn't even funny.

I'd be surprised if Gilbert falls that far, but that would be a steal if he did.

exactly--this forum cannot be the only ones who think Gilbert is first class NFL material though it is interesting he has Gilbert coming to the Jets.

I would like Moreno over Wells also but I like Barden. He gives us the big red zone threat we need. I would be happy with Murphy also but I think Clowney is a very similar receiver and he has a little bit of experience already.

Louis Murphy has about 3 inches on David Clowney and I can guarantee that LM is better over the middle.

I think Clowney can be a nasty slot receiver...but Murphy has #1 potential because of his size/speed ratio and he's great after the catch.

Honestly, I'd be happy either way if we don't go with a receiver in the first or second.

As Mr. E said above, Murphy's got #1 potential, although he's definitely a boom/bust guy due to the uncertainty of his route running ability and a few other things. I honestly believe that he holds more value to the Jets than his teammate, Harvin.

Barden on the other hand is just a giant and could likely immediately upgrade our red zone offense. Either way, in the third I think it's worth the risk

Ditto.............remove Wells and add Moreno. It looks like TJ is being a butthead and isn't going to report. TJ is going to make a lot of coin in 2010 (reason to look at someone else), only 900K this year. I don't think Rex is going to budge and re-do TJ's contract. Drafting Moreno in Rd 1 may come true. TJ is on the in the 30+ range and that is when a RB starts to decline.

I think Jarron Gilbert will be drafted in late Rd 1.......Pittsburgh is my guess, he's visiting the Steelers this week.

Barden isn't going to make it to rd 3.......probably late Rd 2.

Very nice mock with good players that fill our needs.
