Good article, agree with pretty much everything, especially getting Leon some more touches this year. I'm looking forward to seeing a little more of Clowney this year.

"With the Jets current depth chart, Jerricho Cotchery is the unquestioned number one receiver...."

well there you go. Coth is our "unquestioned number one receiver". i guess Crabtree will just have to look elsewhere for a team. poor bastard.

"With the Jets current depth chart,"

Meaning as of now. And he is right. Not sure what you find funny there. Who else is number one then?

I think he read it as the best no matter what happens from here on out.

No way Crabtree gets anywhere near 17 so no need to worry.

Well I still dont think a rookie WR would become the #1 reciever anyways... The only we get a true #1 for this year, would be if we traded for Braylon Edwards, which I am not particularly a fan of doing. I want us to keep our top two picks, and trade back and flip them into 3 or 4 picks in the first 2 rounds, or 4-5 picks in the first three.

Exactly, either way, without a big trade. Cotch is number one for now. I agree.

Cotch should be a number 2 receiver. But yes, until someone deserving of being considered a legitimate #1 wideout shows up, Cotch it is.

I thought that article was on the money assessing the current crop of wideouts. Some here think alot of Stuckey and Clowney, but that article has it right.

The Jets need a consistent deep threat. I hope they use a high pick to get one.

Good post and I agree that the article is right on the money. I'm sure Crabtree will be long gone but I'd still like to see us land a very good WR.

I especially agree with his TE evaluation. Not having Baker now becomes a problem if Keller is to play WR opposite Cotch, so all the more reason why we need a legit deep threat WR and/or TE.

WR is the one glaring ingredient needed in order for this offense to really click. Give the defensive backs somone to worry about and everything else will open up for Jones, Keller, Stuckey, Cotch, even Leon.

Well, if we sign Austin to an offer sheet this week that Dallas can't match, where does that leave us? I guess we really could go Pettigrew in the first and bruising back in the third? Or Moreno, Brown or Wells in the first and blocking TE in the third? Can't wait until draft day.

I don't neccessarly think we need a constant deep threat. Sure speed is great, but i'd rather have a guy that can get off of press coverage, a guy that's big & strong who can get open and occasionally get deep. With the way our offense is shapeing up. Teams are gonna put 8 guy's in the box and play alot of man-cov. I Like a Kenny Britt or Brian Robiskie. Robiskie we might be able to get in the 2nd depending of circumstances. Britt I like, not sure I like him a 17, but if we trade down a couple spots I'd like him. Good combo or size, strength, speed.

It is pretty obvious we are one "go to" player short in the receiving corps. It makes too much sense that will draft a Wideout somewhere in the first 3 rounds.

If Smith wasn't so good on special teams and giving us that X-factor from time to time, he would be gone. I think he will always be one of those special scenario receivers that makes a catch when you might least expect it. I do not see him as being an every-down offensive receiver ever.

The writer could have bolstered Clowney a bit more, but I need to see Clowney string together some contributory games in the regular season before I say he is the real deal. He has awesome potential, though.
