Wow I just saw this a few minutes ago.... I watched him pitch last night too. The Angels announcers just couldn't stop talking about how bright his future was. I saw him pitch while he was in the minors too, he had such a promising future. he was definately a front of the rotation guy. I can't believe a guy I watched pitch last night was murdered just a few hours later.... unreal. And yes even though it's not classified as murder that's exactly what it is. My guess is the person in the van was driving drunk.
Silly presumptive thing to say in a thread like this. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/baseball/mlb/04/09/adenhart.killed/index.html Regardless, it all really shows you how fucking bizarre life and death can be.
I really hope they lock this fucker up for good. None of this manslaughter bullshit, they broke the law running the red, the broke the law hitting someone and driving away, and they more likely than not, broke the law driving impaired. Murder. 25-life. Seeya!
Wow the driver was only 22 years old.... he like Adenhart had his whole life ahead of him and because of one stupid mistake he took the lives away from 3 people and he probably ended any life he had ahead of him as well. Minivan makes me think he probably had children, now his children will grow up without a father. How many lives will be destroyed because this one fucking idiot decided he wanted to drive drunk? I don't view it as manslaughter to me it's murder and if it means he gets a needle in the arm so be it.
Actually it had all the makings of a typical illegal accident in SoCal. Suspended license, hit and run, running a red light. Those are generally the markings of what happens in teh SW when an illegal is invloved in a car accident. It's almost always a hit and run.....
i agree, he had a suspended license so basically they said "hey , its not safe for you to operate a motor vehicle in public because you will probably end up hurting someone..." and then you do it anyway, i believe that is negligent homicide, 4 counts
Sad to hear. God Bless the families of the 4 people killed. Hope the young driver that caused this spends life behind bars with the weight of his crime driving him insane.
So, so bizarre. After I heard this earlier and ever since it has just seemed to surreal and strange. 24 hours ago he was pitching well on TV, and people were talking about what a bright future he has. Now, he's gone forever. Yeah, plenty of people go tragically everyday. But his age, the fact that he pitched last night, the way it happened...it's all so sad and at the same time so creepy.
Seriously dave, it's one thing to do in regard to Joba, but this kid was killed, and it wasn't his fault.
