He'll be a Patriot before the draft......... It'll be fun watching him chase down any of these 2nd string QB's you guys decide to start.
Then Taylor breaks his knee and can't play...a former Dolphin in a Patriot uniform, think I threw up a bit. :finssuck: ats_suck:
Jason taylor is not a winning player AND he clearly lost a step or 2. I hope the Pats sign him to big money.
Ever notice how washed up players always seem to revitalize themselves when coming to play for BB and the Patriots? BB isn't one for signing players at end of their careers to Big $$$.. Taylor would be a situational player rotating in at OLB/DE. I'm sure he'd be able to mentor one or two of the rookies at LB. Picking up Taylor might be tied to who BB drafts. If BB a drafts a DE and LB on day one, Jason's chances will be diminished. It sure leaves Patriots with alot of options on draft day tho.
No I never noticed it? What washed up players revitalized themselves in NE recently? Moss was young, Corey Dillon was still young. junior Seau? He wasn't good in NE- who are these players you are speaking of?
:rofl: These players wern't in the beginnings of their careers, were they? I guess you had to watch Patriot games to realize what Seau did while on Pats. He was washed up so BB brought him back at the end of last season so he could suck again? He a leader on the bench, in locker room and on field. He was close to team leader in tackles before his injury as I recall.hmy: Corey Dillon was born in 1974.You do the math.He was a cancer and would tear apart the Patriots. Not even close. 3 years of nothing but being a warrior.:shit: Randy Moss was another cancer. He's only set a good example with Pats and one of the few Patriot players allowed to speak to the press after games. Do your homework.
"Pats looking at Jason Taylor" And B.B. declares "Boy he looks HOT!!" On a serious note. He's a bad fit because he got shipped out of Miami because he refused to do his off season workouts and he got cut from Washington for the same thing. There is no way that B.B would tolerate that. One thing I do wonder about is why is N.E. bringing in all these players at the end of their careers? Now I know they say it's for depth but, can't they fill those holes through the late rounds of the draft?
Saeu as a leader was ok but he wasn't a good player when you brought him back. Dillon was still a guy near his prime, Taylor's prime was 5 years ago. Moss was in the prime of his career, you are comparing apples to oranges. you said washed up players, Moss & Dillon weren't washed up they were disgruntled.
I honestly hope the patriots pick up Jason Taylor and leave the young, talented rushers to my guys. Of course a lot of dolphins fans aren't quite as happy about it as I am. As far they're concerned if JT joins the patriots he's dead to the 'phins and should never be put on our ring of honor.
I think they figure if the guy has any mileage left great, but if he doesn't we haven't tied up any major money on him so no big deal. As for the off-season thing, Harrison hasn't done it for awhile. Phifer never did it when he was a Pat, and Ty Law worked out on his own with that track guy "Kersey?" In his first couple of seasons, Belichik was a hard-ass about it to create the culture and send a message to the players (he borrowed that from the Parcells playbook). But players he trusts to be in shape he has let them slide in the past. My guess on Taylor is that if the Pats sign him (and it's all speculation now anyway) they will wait until June (after the off-season program) so it won't be an issue.
I guess I don't agree with that thinking. Curtis Martin and his agent allowed the Jets to make sure the Pats couldn't match the offer they got by putting a poison pill in the contract (he could walk away after the first year). That showed he really wanted out! But he just did what players do. They do what they believe is in their best interest. Why should he hate the Jets? He's not even from the area. Martin left the Pats early enough in his career that he'll always be remembered more for being a Jet. I will always respect that he played great for the Pats and carried himself with class.
