This is the kind of response I expect from you Don. I've seen posted in all the Clemens threads only this time you tweaked it to fit around Gholston. Very clever.
Man I love Rex Ryan, and I believe in him, this is the guy we have been waiting for! All the pain last season will be worth it. Our defense is going to be nasty next season.
What is it that you can't understand? Oh, and you have never seen me post anything about money regarding Clemens. You must be senile.
Explain "then we lose". I don't understand that. What is the Don standard for winning when it comes to Gholston's performance and what u expect from him next season.
Man oh man I wish we played Cleveland next year... Just think about how sweet it would be to see VG sack Brady Queer then stand up and stare down the Browns sidelines at Mangina.
If anyone can do it, it would be HC Ryan. I will be great to see and one of the bigger stories for next year amoungst others.
I've been coaching varsity football now for about 5 years. I coached in California, Florida, and now in PA. I've seen all kinds of kids, and a number of coaches. I'm not going to say I'm on the same level as these guys, but I can say this.. The most successful coaches I've come across have a special way with their players. They aren't afraid to explain why something is happening, why that player is going to do something, and why it will work. Lot's of younger players these days respect that sort of coaching, and you get WAY more out of them. On the flipside...The old "Just do what I say" approach doesn't work as well anymore. Accordingly, I think Mangini was exactly that type of coach. It doesn't work for everyone, and it's a sure fire way to lose your team. As we can see from last season, he sure did! That being said, I have a really good feeling about Ryan. I think he's a "player's coach", but he's also a "COACH". A lot of head "coaches" forget that, and become more like managers or figure heads. Consequently, I really feel like he IS the type of guy we've been looking for. I'm also very excited to see Gholston play this upcoming season, I think this is just what the doctor ordered. Just my 2 cents based on the little experience I have.
Good post bro, that was a good read and I agree... I think Vernon Gholston needs a "Coach" @ the NFL level, not a guy like Mangini who took him out of a 4-3 Defensive end position and threw him into the fire as a 3-4 OLB...I really feel Ryan will beable to actually teach this kid something
this is an excellent post. I hope what VG needs is a real coach who can teach him and light a fire under his ass with Rex. I think this season we get VG to start constantly playing up the #6 draft status
Thanks! I actually coached at Brandon High School back in 2007 when we made the playoffs. I wish I would have stayed! High School football in Florida is hands down one of the best in the nation! It would also be nice if he got to put his hand on the ground once in awhile! He needs to learn how to do more than bullrush, but he has the tools to do the rest. I got a good feeling about it!
