You're right. This year they would. He should watch out...lol. Although they still have to absorb that 402 grand in dead money it would leave. Add that to 6.2 million in dead money they are already carrying.
You do realize that was all conjecture from Mr. Least Knowledgeable Poster, right? Kellen hasn't weighed in on the issue.
As opposed to when? Next year, when he's no longer under contract? They dump him now, they save $500k against the cap. That's including the $402k in "dead money". Dead money is irrelevant in this situation. If he's dead weight, they don't say "Damn...we could save $500k, but we'd still get hit for $432k on the cap." If he's dead weight, they do it and lose nothing. The $432k has already been paid as his signing bonus. Only the cap number gets prorated. All that matters is that $530k of his $930k cap number would be recovered.
If Clemens' "feelings" are hurt, we'll give the job to Ratliff or Ainge or another QB with a lil thicker skin. I personally like Clemens and think that behind the new offensive line and with some playmakers around him he could be a solid player. That being said, if he's rattled by our "flirtation" with another QB, then he obviously doesn't have the stones to be the starting QB for the NYJ in 2009
If KC was a true leader, he'd man the fuck up and take full reigns of this team. The voluntary workouts have begun, this is the time to show flashes of that leadership and then take control during OTAs. The players would be really impressed if the kid did that. I just don't see him having that ability inside him.
clemens would lose all respect for the front office if they DIDNT try to get cutler. hell, clemens feels lucky just to own a jock strap with the logo 'property of the ny jets'
footballgod has maybe posted 3 serious comments since the collapse last year. He's joking. I wouldn't be surprised if Kellen's feelings light a fire under VG's ass.
I never said a word about Clemens being disillusioned. Maybe you should learn how to read before you try to speak. I realize that is asking a lot of the disadvantaged.
lol, that was funny but on a more serious note...What do you think Rex Ryan thinks about Vernon Gholston? Do you think that Rex Ryan feels like VG can be a Suggs type of player? Or do you think that Rex Ryan plans on going with Bryan Thomas over VG next year? All I know is this...It's important for a 3-4 Defense to have pressure from the outside LB's and Im really confident that Pace has what it takes, Im just worried about VG as of right now because of his season last year but @ the same time...I remember Gholston coming outta the draft last year and his talent was 2nd to none on the defensive side of the ball interms of rushing the QB...Lets hope that Ryan can bring the best outta this kid because if he can...It looks like we may just have an OLB that can dominate in this 3-4 D for years to come
KC wishes to be big at a magic wish machine, he wakes up the next morning and finds himself in an adult body literally overnight.
the 07 season is the reason why clemens will be the starter this yr.lets not forget that it was against rex's vaulted defense that kellen had perhaps his best quarter as a pro.after being pounded for 3 quarters by ray lewis and company kellen was able to drag himself off the carpet and absolutely rip up the ravens defense in the 4th quarter.he made all the throws, and if not for a drop he beats baltimore and never looks back.since then he has had 2 more yrs in the same system to develop.he has also had the priviledge of watching 2 great qb's run the system in totally different ways:the accuracy and rhythm of chad, and the gunslinger mentality of favre. there is also the fact that this offense has improved it's personell since then.if the jets decide to draft a big, fast wr to add to an already impressive offense machine then i can't see why this situation would not be ideal for them.given the fact that schott was retained after firing mangini seems to me would indicate that there is some confidence in what he is doing.kellen has 4 yrs in the system.he's been throwing the rock to all the receivers for that time.he knows all the plays,is playing being behind a stellar o-line with a great running game.and is the hand picked qb of the o-coordinator who broke the jets points record last year.i think he will be given every opportunity to start.
+1 on that post right there man... To make a long story short, Kellen has earned his chance and knows this Offense better than anyone else on the roster. I think its a great that Kellen was drafted and sat his rookie year behind Pennington, I think it was great that he got thrown into the fire his 2nd year with a team that had no O-Line and no Running game (It only made him stronger) And I think it was great that he got to learn behind #4 last year. This is a perfect time to give KC the keys to the Jets and actually give him a fair chance
