Have the Jesters ever lost a SB?

I think the only one they were in was with Willie Joe and he won it.

I was just a young kid way back then.

Distant memories are only good for the old folk. The youngsters can only read about it.

On passing downs pulling Wilfork and having Green and Peppers on DL will be devastating for the QB.

The Jets need to block this move--something they did not do with Moss. That is, offer our #1 for the SOB--then trade him somewhere else if we don't have the cap space. We cannot let NE get him. This is called playing defense.

Let's see how many teams and players want to deal with us if we pull a bush league move like that. That would kill our FA prospects for years. If the Panthers are willing to let him go for a 2nd, I'd imagine there will be other teams willing to pay the price for him and drop a pick at the end of the 1st. Let's wait and see what happens.

because it's different teams with different needs facing a different scenario.

The Pats aren't stupid. They have Adalius Thomas, and now Shaun Springs to cover TE's and slot receivers. Peppers will be a rush the passer OLB if he makes it to NE (still just a rumor), and maybe blow up screen passes.

I think they resign Wilfork and either let Seymour walk away at the end of the year if they can make this trade. If they can't or don't make this trade move they probably bring in Taylor as a pass rush specialist.

This isn't a FA move--its a trade move--But if you are right that it would affect our FA plans, then of course I would agree. But I don't know that you are.

What history are you basing your opinion on? I'm trying to think of another case. Let's say we offered Oak a #3 or our #4 for Moss--would that have caused a problem?

Did not we have a situation where a team traded for a pick before us to snag our guy? That didn't affect anything.
Let me know what you are basing your statement on.
    TIA

It was for Allen because the Chiefs had tons of cap room to keep him if the deal wasn't what they wanted, plus we're talking about the Vikings who have a long history of over paying on trades and FA's.

The Panthers are looking for fiscal relief apparently, and th34th pick in a deep draft is first round talent at 2nd round salary.

The Jets need to worry about the Jets! Not the Patriots. The Jets are better talentwise now then they were last year. They need to work on what they do, and NOT worry about everyone else.

In the 90's the Red Sox made moves to keep up with the Yankees, and where'd it get them? Now the Yankees make moves to counter the Red Sox, and how's that been working out for them?

I think Ryan has a plan. Will they be better on paper than the Pats? Maybe not, but you have to have faith in what you're doing and where you're going as a team. Trying to do something to counter what another team is doing is thinking with a loser mentality.

I would be pissed if they got him, it'd instantly catapult their defense up to ours. And with their offense, they'd be dominant for another few years.

Both teams have the same credo: If the player is a star, get him.

Their front 7 with Peppers would be disgusting.

    Warren-Wilfork-Seymour
    Peppers-Mayo-Bruschi-A Thomas

    Jesus.
