I would not be surprised at all if the Jets sign him. Yes, he is far from an elite corner, but he would give us depth at CB.

Oh, if I forgot to mention, the Ravens just cut him.

If the price is right I'd take him in a second. But I agreewith NDmick...he doesnt want to come here and be the 4th CB.

Lowery showed me nothing last year so he would be the 3rd CB on our team & Lito signed a 1 year deal (cause there is no way we pay him $10 mil next year) he could be the starter in 2010.

You never know, he could possible be the nickel. Lowery wasn't exactly a shutdown corner last year. Rolle might not be a starter anywhere, so why not take a shot at being #3 with a coaching staff he's familiar with?

Like HOI said, for the right price I'd be all for it.

Also Lito is injury prone he could wind up starting for us. If the contract is cheap & short term do it.

We will add 2 more cbs it is just who and when
If rolle and mccalister sit on the market long enough...we will likely bring in one for depth
Injuries happen not too mention fatigue and spread offense...brady is back this season
Lowery's speed leaves something to be desired
...Adding someone who can split time with lito also reduces compensation to philly
Lito has more than a one year deal...it is 10 mil option over remainder of contract not a roster bonus

Would be a good pickup sometimes age and wisdom does wonders to a young team. Locker room prescence on field wisdom. For the right price im all for it.

I've already raised this question in the "other" Rolle thread....but why would we sign Rolle over McAlister. I believe both would come on the cheap...except McAlister is younger and more talented, IMO.

At the right price - preferably, 2-2.5M a year at most - I wouldn't mind either. Jets do need some depth, as it stands. If they're looking for a starting spot OR starting money, they can take a hike.

That's right, I forgot about McAlister. I guess I forgot about him because I haven't read very much about him since he became a free agent. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I thought the Jets were surely going to sign Ivy, but haven't heard anything since his visit.

Definitely wouldn't mind him for depth. Chris McAlister doesn't have a team either, but there is a lot of concern about his age and stamina.

this is probably the most likely option. Although the Pats run a different system than we do and he is familiar with our system, so who knows.

The Pats signed Bodden & Springs do you think they are going for another corner?

McAlister is younger than Rolle....albeit, it's only a year difference. I'd still take McAlister over Rolle...just on talent level alone.

I completely agree. McAlister is a much better option for us than is Rolle at this stage in their respective careers. (Acutally, I've always thought Rolle was considerably overrated, even in his prime. McAlister in his prime was a pro-bowl caliber CB, and while he's not quite at that level anymore, he's still a very productive player)

Why doesn't Woody just buy the Baltimore Ravens... the whole team, I mean. Then we'd have everybody.
