I actually wouldn't mind that - he's not going to demand much cash and he's a good blocker...just don't throw him the ball.

Put him in any Jersey, jsut don;t expect him to catch a ball. A big Blocking TE, basicly a second tackle, is jsut what we need.

I actually wouldn't mind getting Becht back. He's a good blocker and would compliment Keller. He fell over every time he caught the ball, but we really only need him to block.

Wow, got your pirate pantys in a know there 5180?

He was pointing out that you don't see value in Becht, yet would jump on the chance to sign a cancer like TO. Its funny how backwards your Al Davis like logic is.

Sure Becht could not catch a cold, but he's a very good blocking TE and that is exactly what we could use.

    Bingo! (filler)

Edit: Mods please monitor this thread to make sure it doesn't turn into a "reasons why we should've signed TO" thread. If it does, then please take the necessary measures to clean this message board. Thanks.

    Reasons to sign T.O.:
    1. High rating in Madden.
    2. Good with teammates
    3. Would not have cost that much.
    4. Great catching ability, I think he has 0 drops from 2003-now.
    5. Most TD's by a reciever the last 3 years.
    6. Met Rex Ryan before.
    7. Is better than Dustin Keller so Keller would give him #81
    8. Soss could change his name to Oerrell Twens.
    9. Owens would handle the NY media with ease.
    10. He is the best thing since sliced bread.

At first thought, I thought re-signing Becht might be a decent, cost-effective move. I looked over his stats and realized he caught 11 balls in the last two years. For those of you who figure he is a good blocking TE, I believe you to be correct but goddamn, by inserting him into the game we would be telling the opposition that we ARE going to run the ball. I'd at least like a second TE who could roll out and catch one if needed.

There has to be someone out there better than him, if not in the draft.

That's a good point. But remember, there were a number of plays we ran last year with Hunter being announced as an eligible receiver and those were telegraphed runs (at least 90% of the time). If Becht could be used in goal line situations or even certain 3rd and shorts to catch the ball on a flat or short curl, I'd have to assume that automatically gives us some kind of an advantage.

Becht was a terrible pick. I don't even like seeing him in opposing uniforms, let alone ours.
