Question for a mock draft im doing at fastmockdraft.com

Alright so the Texans are horrible. They need a LT, WR, DE, LB and S.

They have the same crappy LT that has been giving them problems since they were formed as a team. They have no one to take the heat off Johnson but I drafted Bush so that should be ok. They have mostly DT because they drafted and signed them to run the 3-4 but they have no real DE unless they shift Peek and Babin back to DE but even if they do how good can they be because they haven't played in a while and need to learn it again. If they shift those guys back than they need more LBs that can play the 4-3 and they simply have no one at Safety.

Here is my dilemna. I figured I would just draft Eric Winston and be set at LT and not really miss out on D'Brick that much but some unexpected players have dropped. I'm waiting for Pittsburgh to pick and these four guys are available: Ernie Sims, Kamerion Wimbley, Donte Whitner and Eric Winston.

I wanted to take Winston, but with Sims dropping, he is a top 15 talent that would be a huge steal...gotta take BAP no matter what right? But is he better than Wimbley? I'd say the Texans need a DE more than a LB right now but Wimbley is more of a 3-4 rusher and might not makeit in the 4-3 even though he played it successfully in college. Of course Whitner is real good and would solve a huge need.

Basically I think Sims is slightly better than Wimbley but Wimbley would fill a slightly more pressing need. Winston would fill the biggest need but is probably the worst of the 4 and Whitner would fill the second biggest need but is the second worst probably. Plus I can probably get a decent S and LT in the third with the two picks I got.

Anyways...what would you guys do? I'm still waiting for Pittsburgh to pick but after that here is my draft order: Sims, Wimbley, Winston, Whitner.

You guys agree? Would you do the same?

I'd make Wimbley the top choice... he's an excellent DE and he not as undersized as you might think. He could bulk up about 10 pounds and he'd be a dominant 4-3 end. I'd take him. They both should have been top 15 picks and since DE is a higher valued position then OLB I'd go with Wimbley.

Definetly go Simms, I think he's a top 15 pick by now, and the Texans need everything so he is by far the best defensive player available.

    You guys aren't helping LOL.

Just kidding thanks for the responses. I'm actually thinking the Steelers might decide for me and I'll just take whoever is left between those two

The Texans signed free agent DE Weaver from Baltimore. Peek and Babin were DEs in college and may get a shot at the other end. ND Kalu was also signed for depth.

For my money, Sims would be the #1 choice he is easily a Top 15 guy and a steal at #33. He would be followed closely by Eric Winston.

A dominant 34 end? Do you mean a dominant 43 end? Or a dominant 34 OLB. Cause he cant play 34 end...

I stand corrected. The 4 and 3 are right next to eachother so sometimes instead of going right to left I go left to right.

Believe it or not the Texans are apparently quite comfortable with Chester Pitts playing LT in their new blocking system. Remember, it's Kubiak's offense, so maybe he sees potential in Pitts for him that the old regime didn't in their scheme.

Well I went with Sims and am pretty happy. The Steelers took LenDale White so that didn't help.

Maybe I will look for a good guard in the third instead of a Tackle. Either way I need to do something to fix the OL.
