I hope we get a CB in free agency and draft a LB. I think at 17 we have a better chance of nabbing a LB who can contribute right away than we do of landing a top flight corner. We need ILB, CB, Right Guard or Right Tackle, Safety, and Wide Receiver. I bet we'll atleast get depth guys at 2 or 3 of these positions before the draft, and then we better hit on 2 of our first 3 picks. It will an exciting weekend. No big bucks for Ray Lewis is my only request.

If that was the asking price, he would have been traded by now. Look at the teams that would be drooling over Boldin for a second and trash. Miami, Buffalo, Minnesota, Chicago, Seattle, NYG, I could go on.

Top ten WR's are few and FAR between. I would happilly part with a first for Boldin, but they will want more than that for certain. I think there is some communal delusionary virus on this board. Boldin for a second? :breakdance:

I'm pissed already and free agency hasn't started yet. I always expect the worst...it makes the inevitable kick in the balls a bit more tolerable.

What are you nervous about? It's not like we won the SB last year we were among the worst teams in the NFL come December. Getting rid of dead weight is always a good thing.

I really don't think Bart Scott is gonna re-sign before free agency, I think he really wants to test the market and if that's the case the Jets will offer him a huge contract that he will ultimately accept

i've had the TGG.com virus for years........:) i keep re-infecting myself using the same keyboard......

seriously - these are the cardinals - they may not necessarily want to pay another first round pick.....unless its down in the 25-32 range. if its in that area than a high 2 is certainly in play with some chump change in 2010.

IMO - the jets cannot part with their #17 pick for boldin - this is a decent draft for LB and WR - 2 spots we are somewhat thin at right now. boldin has some mileage on him and i would be very surprised if any team above the 25 or so slot would give up their #1 for him at this point.

It makes it more amazing that we didn't offer them a third for him....

The Jets did enough dealing last offseason for Jenkins and Favre, 2 moves I would do again in a heartbeat. So that pretty much rules out Boldin IMO. But if he could be had for a 1st and 4th, I seriously would consider it. He's better than anyone at 17, he's better than anyone in the Top 5.
Anyway...I'm still on the Vontae Davis wagon, but his stock seems to be rising. McFadden is flying under the radar, him opposite Revis would be fine.

@17 my hopefuls are Davis, Cushing, Nicks, and Maualuga...Assuming the Ravens re-sign Scott.

Where are we getting a #1? I dont know about you but im tired of waiting and rebuilding. So it better be this year. and not thro the draft.

We need a vet QB for insurance. Give KC and Ratliff a chance to win the job vs. a vet QB but we need a vet just in case those guys cannot step up.

We should really go after Boldin now. He changes the game on one play all the time. Bring in Leftwich for competition.

I liked the Coles move a lot as well.

I think if Vontae Davis is gone, and it looks more and more like he's the top rated CB in this draft...he likely won't drop to 17. I know AZ is cheap, but they did F Tag Dansby. That must have gotten Bidwell sick for days, and he still has to pay Warner. If Davis is gone, that 17 isn't worth near as much as it was.

Maybe Bidwell would go for a swap of our 1st for their 2nd, and we give another 2nd next year? He would be stupid if he does what SD did with M Turner, but Bidwell has a history of being Al Davis-stupidesque. The longer he holds onto Boldin, the less he will get in return. He also has to live with having a Super Bowl loser that is only a player or two away from winning it instead. The fans will put more pressure on him now to keep this team in contention. Maybe winning will open his wallet a little bit. How much is Boldin scheduled to make this year?

If John Abraham can net a 1st rounder, Boldin sure as shit will and then some most likely. The guy has shown repeatedly that he is a beast on the field, who just happens to be playing alongside maybe the best WR in the NFL.

How great would it be for KC or Ratliff to go into a season with some serious weapons and what hopefully will be a strong Oline.

I would be ecstatic if Tanny swapped 17 for him, but would they have the flexibility to bring in other semi-big names as well (ie Scott or Greer)?

I LOVE Boldin and would be THRILLED if he were on the Jets, but remember, he's under contract and I just don't think Arizona is letting him go (unless someone makes some insane Mike Ditka type trade). Especially if Warner doesn't come back, they need to give Leinart all the weapons they can, because if he proves to be a bust, they look really bad.

If you're not willing to part with a #1, then you don't want the guy, cause that's what it would minimally take. That's generous offering a #2 and #5, considering that would be a considered an insult offer.
