Assuming they both command the same salary, which linebacker do you go with?

Bart Scott absolutely. If Ray Lewis was younger, I would take him.

Ray Lewis may have a good year or two left. Bart Scott may not be as great but he has more than a tank full of gas left, probably good 5,6 years. I'll pass on Lewis but wouldn't be upset if we did sign him. We aren't giving up anything for him besides the salary.

    Ray Lewis... Here's why:

Lewis had a better season last year than Scott did. Sure, you can argue that Scott is on the up and Lewis on the opposite. But, the stats are telling me something different.

Lewis not only brings the upgrade and talent that we need at LB, but he brings work ethic, motivation, and leadership. Something this organization is in dire need for.

Scott is developing into the next Ray Lewis. Let me put that into perspective, he is developing..... Enough said. Forcing him to become the leader of this Defense is alot of pressure for a developing player. Something Ray could handle with ease.

Oh, and did I mention already? Scott is already on our roster. His name is David Harris. A developing young star at LB. One in need of a good tutor. I think Ray Ray is gonna' turn this man into the next Bart Scott. No need to have a 2nd.

Yes it is. Let's hope Tanny thinks the same.

I'd rather have a younger Scott then an older Lewis, no matter what.

Well, he really is answering a no-brainer question.

i don't think it's that much of a no-brainer. Ray Lewis would provide leadership better than anyone else in the NFL. Although he might be getting on in age and his skills are diminishing, motivation, desire, and leadership are intangibles that automatically make any player great.

I did vote for Scott though. :)

I don't want to tie up money on a player fazing out into a coach role. I'd rather secure a position for 3-4 years of solid play. Some want to bring Lewis here and make a Ray Lewis Jr. out of Harris. Then what? Draft an ILB in the next year or two? Also I hear Lewis will turn Gholston into the superstar we all hope he can be. Huh?! I thought Rex Ryan was supposed to do that? I'd rather bring Lewis Jr. here (Scott) and roll with a healthy Harris. Just eliminate the middle man and use that early pick in the next year or two (that we would've used to replace Lewis) on any skill position.
