That fact that you believed he ran a 3.98 forty is retarded. You know nothing about college football, the draft, and quite possibly what the sport of football actually is. You should be banned from any discussion in which you try and discuss anything outside the topics of perhaps Obama or Conan.

Hahahaha...I didn't even want to waste my time telling him that a 3.98 is physically impossible.

First of all it was to egg this person on to see if he was going to start quoting Vertical stats, The Highjump and anything else unrelated to playing football. It was not meant to be serious. Trust me I know 40 times and I guarantee you there are guys who run 4-3's that are perfectly useless on a Football field.

The Stats were jaded. He got large sack numbers against bad teams and disappeared in others. I want to see a pass rusher who gets sacks in games that matter when it matters.

I used CHrebet and Rice as classic examples of Football players who were slow who were good that would not wow scouts at the combines because of 40 times. It has nothing to do with the position get it together and stop reaching for s**t!

The answer to the thread title is the 40 yard dash, and position drills.

yes i'm the one doing the reaching here. you didn't even bother to find out what position the player in question played, and managed to hijack the thread just to spew your worthless hate for gholston.

the more i watch the combine the more i think we should trade down to around 20-24 and take an extra 3rd or 4th. We use the first pick to draft Smith and the extra 3rd to get a G if Woody is cut.

i'm slowly dipping into this mentality as well.

Sean Smith is looking like the no shit DB prospect.

Excuse me CB. And once again I used Gholston as an example of why not to get excited about 40 times. I meant to say CB. If you want to sit here and quote 40 times, vertical leaps and long Jumps to decide who plays opposite Revis then be prepared to pick yet another dud! You Hijacked your own thread by continuing to talk about it when I basically asked what did he do on the football field. Can you at least answer that?

this isn't my thread. i had only heard of this guy in the last few weeks leading up to the combine. i know what was in this thread. he had 20+ ints, and ran slower than a 3.98 in the 40. i didn't bring up gholston, and by the way its still to early to start using him as a cautionary tale of how the combine can be misleading. he still has a chance to be good. next time use someone who we actually know is a bust... say drob for instance.

id love to trade down, but with this being what looks like a pretty average draft class many teams are probably thinking the same thing. is there going to be someone at 17 that a team in the later part of the draft wants bad enough to move up? i dont see it right now.

I think the only problem with D-Rob is that he shot up the draft charts and was taken Higher than his talent because of the combines. If he was drafted in the second or Third round I don't think anybody would be complaining about him. he gets the bust status because he did not put up stats to merit his draft slot. We need a good Cb opposite Revis no matter what route we go. Hopefully we get the bpa.

He ran a 4.5 the first time around. Not to sure what he ran the second time.

I got to watch some of the Combine last night; and yeah, Sean Smith just looks beastly for a CB. I would have no qualms with drafting him in R1.
