I like sanchez and even josh freeman and part of me really wants to get one in the 1st round. but i think the best thing would be to give clemens or ratliff a year and see how they do. if it fails miserably then look for a qb next year. i just think its to early to give up on what we have

They better be seeing something in Freeman that the rest of us dont.

I believe the 2010 QB Class will be the best since the 2004 Class that included Manning, Rivers, Rothlisberger.

In terms of defense I would hope about drafting either Maualuga or Laurinaitis. And address all the other pressing needs with the other picks.

Im confident in Lowery's ability to play corner, and start opposite of Revis.

I've noticed all the fans who live in California aren't impressed with Sanchez, just like last year the fans who lived in Ohio weren't impressed with Gholston. Youtube highlight videos don't show it all.

I'm sick of the Jets having cross your fingers types at CB. Like, cross your fingers and hope Drew Coleman gets taller, Lowery gets faster, Ty Law gets younger and Ahmad Carroll gets smarter. Part of the reason the Jets carried so many DBs on the roster last year, at least 10, was that a lot of them were projects that the CS was hoping would pan out. Draft a quality DB in the first round and you can cut at least Law, Carroll and D. Coleman, that helps with the roster. And it lets you use Rhodes more aggressively, the way he was used in '06 when he looked like a superstar. Drafting a CB in the first round would also stop me from pulling out my hair every time the Jets acquire a new development project at CB or a new over the hill veteran. This position has just been left unsettled for too long, when was the last time the Jets had two good CBs? If the scouting department does their job right the 17th pick should give the Jets a CB who with Revis will lock down that position for years to come.

corner in rd 1? I don't when you have a pro bowler on the other side do we really need to use a first rounder on that position. I agree we need an upgrade but a lot of our issues were from our linebackers who couldn't cover and the fact that our pass rush dissapeared in the second half of the season.

I like Vontae Davis alot and if Sanchez gets taken before we pick I think he should be the guy. If they're both gone, trade down, add some picks and move on but don't reach.

Excuse the noob here but i would much rather go front 3 defense early. If not early someone that can eventually be a starter. Ellis is old.

The 2 guys i like from each position will both be there in the 2nd round. Macho Harris CB from Virginia Tech and Freeman from the Jayhawks.

I like Macho Harris as much as anyone (He's lives 2 apartments down from me at VT). However, he is more of a zone CB and struggles with man to man coverage. I don't see him coming to the Jets IMO

    Folks
If I may point out, as many of you are seeing from the moves the Jets are making at this time, cuts an a changing of the guard if you will, we will be in the rebuilding mode this year. So to draft a questionable QB this year would not be a smart move. As has been discussed by many, this years class is average at best.

Now remembering will be doing a minor rebuilding of the team this year, this is the time to see just what we have at QB on the roster right now. Again as has been pointed out next years QB class should be light years ahead of this class. So if by chance the three QB's we have now are not the answer then we clean house at that position next year and go after one of the better prospects next year.

An if the QB's are that bad then we will be drafting much higher next year anyway.

So before giving up on Clemens or Ratliff, let's see just what we have. So these two guys go head to head thru OTA's and half of TC and by mid-camp of the two, we chose the starter. If it makes the Jets feel more comfortable they can bring in some retread like a Kitna as insurance. Angie get another year to learn and another year of the Jets to make a determination on his status for the future.

So at this point the Jets should fane interest in one of these three QB's and hope one falls to them at 17. If this happens then the Jets will be in the cat bird seat and they can work out the best deal they can for a trade down. If we can pick up and extra 3 and 4 this year or maybe a 2 next year if someone really likes one of these kids then we would be sitting pretty.

Then with whatever trade they workout let us hope we can find an impact pick who will be able to start for us right away. In short let us take a football player and not some combine workout warrior, sorry Vernon.

At this point in time we have so many more needs on this team then QB, so we should use this year draft to fill some of those needs and answer the questions we do have at QB on the team right now. It is my belief that one of the guys we have on the team, right now will step up and take the team by the balls be the leader and player we hope they would be.

We will be making a huge mistake if we draft Sanchez as our 1st round pick. He is not ready to start in his 1st year. So do you want to draft him and sit him for a year or 2. Did anyone see him at the combine today. Not impressive at all with his throws. Now you know why his coach told him to come back. Stafford at least has a gun and has had 39 starts. All 4 of these junior QBS came out to soon. Nate Davis and Freeman needed another year as well with Sanchez. Of the 4 Stafford is the only one I see making an impact his 1st year. Sanchez came out early because he didn't want to compete with the big 3 QBS next year. Davis and Freeman came out due to coaching change. I would pick Davis in the 3rd round since he has a gun and is fairly accurate. Did anyone see him throw the ball 70 yards in a competion on ESPN. He came in 2nd to Harrell in accuracy.

everyone talks about stafford, sanchez and freeman but pat white from west virginia was a good college qb. I would like to us grab him the second-third round, he throws a good deep ball and he can run not to mention he is one of the few senior qb's in the draft this year.

pat white is this year's Brad Smith. Enough said. He doesn't have the poise, presence, accuracy, pro football skills to be a successful nfl qb.

The only reason the Jets (or any other team) should consider Pat White is if the are looking to run a form of the wildcat more then a couple times a game. Even if it does turn out he has have adequate arm strength and accuracy, he is still undersized and would not be a good candidate to be a franchise signal caller.

I really want us to grab Freeman in this draft. I wonder what Ryan thought of him in the interview.

Anybody here anything about his interviews?

actually the scouts have said he has that "it" factor, and really displayed it today at the combine....

if the wildcat is run with him at QB, that is one pesky offense.

in terms of him being a true Pro style offense QB, chances are slim.

the chances are slim that he can run the pro style offense but if he is available i would give him a chance. this probably wont happen but if the college option was used with him a leon washington? that would, well it sounds good, but it could be a pain to stop, assuming we draft him
