Why? I dont like kitna i did at one point but then i realized he's an arrogant douchebag with an attitude problem. Wouldnt be good for us. Rather go for Garcia.
Then that means: A. We're going to have Rookie/Clemens/Kitna/Ratliff/Ainge B. Clemens, Ratliff or Ainge will be cut (maybe Ainge relegated to the PS), in which case, the CS doesn't see anything in them because they wouldn't have signed Kitna and drafted a QB. C. We're not drafting a QB at all if Kitna is signed.
Its true that no one knows if KC, Ratliff or Ainge will be any good. But we already know that Kitna, Leftwich, Collins and Fitzy will never be any good. And Garcia is okay, but he's old and has a weak arm. I hope the people who want Garcia aren't the same people who wanted Penny gone.
If it is true there's no way we're signing a QB in the draft. How many QB's are gonna be on this roster, 5? Doubt it, unless we get rid of Clemens in a draft day deal.
I read a good article somewhere about how you can't believe every single rumor you hear. Stuff can be made up easy. Like "so and so could be traded", well, anyone "can" be traded, but is it real, in most cases no.
We need to bring in a Vet, just to cover ourselves if Clemens or Ratliff don't perform well. It would be a little crazy to go into the season with 3 young QBs. Kitna is decent, he's just played on some really bad teams the last few years.
That was my point! if we essentially give them nothing, unless he starts and plays like 80% of the snaps, and then we give them a 6th i think thats a great deal. Otherwise we hand them nothing, then I think its a great deal for both squads. If we get our starter for a year out of it, I think it is worth a 6. If he doesnt become our starter than we just give them nothing, and its as though we signed him from FA. seems like a good deal to me.
Im going to put not liking Kitna aside and Talk about Back in 98 when the seahawks were rolling and thge Jets Put a dagger in their playoff hopes with the phantom touch down. Ever since then Kitna had his ups and downs, But he utimately fails. This guy is good enough and been arouind long enough to out perform anyone on our roster (Fool us ) and if he's the starter he will eventually fail. Bad decisions has always been his vise and I just hope this is not true!
Spokesman: the Lions did NOT trade Jon Kitna to the Jets http://blogs.trb.com/sports/football/jets/blog/2009/02/spokesman_the_lions_did_not_tr.html
Kitna is a very good option IMO. I think he'll do a good job if given time, just like I believe in Derek Anderson's case. He is cocky, somewhat similar to our new HC. If he can be put into the mix of QBs, then I think we'll be set for the season. If he can't win the job, then KC or Ratliff would be pretty good...win win situation. Apart from that, Kitna would make a great backup at the least. ps. I hate him though and I think he's g@y... But whatever helps the team.
