I knew there had to be a reason why the Texans were shying away from him, he shouldn't be asking for that kind of money at all. Chad Johnson just got around 35 million and he's a proven NFL superstar. You want 30 mil., Reggie? Prove on the field that you deserve that kind of contract.

It's not that much of a stretch. But the demands will come down, if he was the second pick he would lose a ton of money and the Texans want him anyway. The 1st pick is going to get well over $20 million in bonuses.

Are some of you joking? You don't even know if 30 million is low or high.

Ronnie Brown got 34 million last year as the #2 pick, with 19.9 million guaranteed. I didn't see once in that article him saying he wanted 30 mil. guaranteed, just 30 million.

Let's see, he can return kicks, catch the occasional pass....is undersized as WR and underweight in general...is exciting when he touches the ball...oh I know, it's Duante Hall right? I don't want Bush, let someone else make that mistake. He probably wasn't even the best runner on his team in COLLEGE. I don't understand all the hype.

you probably think Curtis Martin is faster than Reggie Bush, too

it's Dante hall, by the way, not Duante

30 mil? guarenteed or total and how many yrs?
now the rookie contracts can only max out in 6yrs compared to 7.

it cant be worse than Robertson 7 yrs 52 mil(if he gets esculators)...7 22 without ... he had a 13 mil SB. plus the escaulators were easy so it will be a 7 44 contract if he plays it out.(There are other top picks who are just as bad)

I think the most interesting part of this article is where they talk about how nearly none of the #1 overall rb's lead their team to a SB. Interesting.

thats been a going debate for months.

The last RB to win a SB, who was picked in the top 5 was in 1977 or 1978.
Tony Dorsett(#2 overall) was a trade up pick(27?) on an already good cowgirls team
Bucs had the 1st pick and picked RB Ricky Bell(lets say it lightly not a good pick, he got an illness early in his life and died before the age of 30 if I am correct)

but the history of rb's picked in the top 5 and teams sucess is not good

How is $30 million a lot? Didn't Alex Smith get something in the 40's, maybe even the 50's last season? Bush is asking for 30. Now if that's in guarenteed money...that's different.

He's the consensus number one overall draft pick, the best player in the draft and is said to be a once in a decade player. I'm be very surprised that a player of his calibre is only asking for $30 million, if I didn't think Reggie Bush was a standup guy off the field.

30 million over a certain amount of years is not much. Eli and Smith got like 50 million. If its 30 million then yea, that would be way too much. Let's first get all the info before we start jumping to conclusions.

He has to be asking for a 30 mil SB. Since most of us are going crazy and cant believe what we are seeing. Since he is looking at that and Alex Smith got 22.5? They might find a median.
I hate saying this I think Robertson has the highest contract for a DT ever...looking at history if you are in the top 10 and dont have good scouting/luck oh well, you just payed for a top FA. Now you see why teams move down. Look at this yrs top FA's not many got over 6 yrs 40 mil(fill in any SB thats what matters the most)

Dummy? I think not , he or his agent is playing the numbers game. If NO did want to sign him the reported $30m would have to come virtually straight from the coffers. On the other hand if he came to NY , the endorsements would be endless and could go on to make alot more than $30m. How many shirts would the Jets sell with Bushs' name on ?

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smart Reggie!!!!! Get that a$$ in NYC!!!!!! He's not signing for that (30 mill) Very nice Reggie! Texans try to devalue you by suggesting Mario is the better player AND point out all of these "weaknesses" you have. Bush will be a JET!!!!!!!! Can't wait for this draft.

    1st pick Mario Williams
    2nd pick D'Brick
    3rd pick Vince Young
    4th pick Reggie Bush
    5th pick Who cares??????

Yeah, but i doubt he will be in new york, we need a DE or OT more than a HB.
And reggie going 4th, i highy doubt he will get to 4.

And what i meant by dummy, is that at being the 1st pick you get more guaranteed money, and every contract after that is like woah... Now let's say he goes 2nd because the texans took mario, then the saints would take him, i doubt the saints take ferguson, unless somebody trades for the 2nd pick.
