McAlister isn't what he used to be. would rather see this team get a CB in 1st or 2nd round of draft

Why when they already have Dwight Lowery that would be a waste of a pick.
McAlister brings veteran experience and instant upgrade and hes only 31. Lowery just isnt ready based on last season.

I don' think people realize you were referring to the post right before this one. Either that or I'm missing the sarcasm.

I think what he's getting at is that if we were "over the cap" we wouldn't have money to spend, so when spicer says "with the money we have over the cap" Don is mocking him. Really spicer just meant "under the cap".

That was my take. Whatever, I'm done trying to decrypt the dialogue between these two.

Go after McAlister at the very least now that he's available, we need the help at CB.

31 is not a ripe age for a CB... thats the end of a career.

    here we go..........

skill positions begin to die out at 30, they have maybe one more year left in them. After 32 - they don't do well. John Lynch, Ronnie Lott, Ty Law, etc.

a lot of game is 4 years of accountability. he doesn't have that much time. He's injured a lot.

I'd like him here because he knows the system already, but i'm not giving him a long term contract.

    I see they unbanned you.

welcome back, 5180....how was the journey to Davy Jones' locker? Yaahaaarrr!!!

EDIT: And to stay on topic....McAlister is an upgrade over...say...Hank Poteat. I think Rex would know how to use him...and I wouldn't mind if the Jets took a flier on him...to see what he brings to the table.

We can guess at this one (McAlister) all we want... Ryan knowes this guy very well. If he has no interest, neither should we as Jets fans. If he persues him, fine, I'm good with that too.

I like McAlister because he's banging Stacey Keibler...... well I think he would be a good mentor for Lowery and Revis. Plus I think he knows the system pretty well. He may have his best years bhind him but he's a better option at Nickel than anybody else we have on the roster if that was tehe route they wanted to go.

Absolutely, I trust Ryan to make the right call based on the knowledge he has of McAlister.

If Rex Ryan feels this guy can help the D then go for it. I too would be against a long-term contract. Im leaning towards incentive laden contracts with performance being the money maker. Im tired of slugs signing for long-term and big money and under achieving. Been there done that.

Don I wanted to say under the cap & if you were not mocking me Favre $13,000,000 + Barrett $3,700,000 = $16,700,000 so we have money to spend.

ThunderbirdJet I would say that story is only partly true because nobody has knee surgery if they are not really hurt. You could say he was faking a injury if he did not get surgery but no one gets knee surgery for no reason.

I just thought that it was an interesting take from a Ravens fan. Who knows? Was it a little scoping that was no big deal, something he could have played with? Or something worse? I don't pretend to know. I do know that when there is some smoke, there is usually some fire.

Like I siad, we'll find out soon enough. If Ryan thinks McAlister will play within the scheme and help this team, he'll go after him. If he doesn't, there is your answer.

McAlister is only 31 - I think he's still got a few solid years left in him. But after his antics last year, will Rex even want him?

I would really have no problem adding any former Raven...except Kyle Boller
Scott/Leonhard/Pryce/McAlister would all be excellent additions without breaking the bank
The only offensive player i would want is TE Daniel Wilcox...i think we will be cutting Baker (contract) and Wilcox is a good TE who has played well behind Todd Heap without any QB during his time in Baltimore....cheap and well rounded...

As far as getting Chris McAlister goes, when the post-season started (if we were in it) he would be 32 1/2. Now can SOMEBODY tell me a CB at that age who has been a solid #2 CB in the playoffs? Yes I understand he is an upgrade ATM but I really believe we should look elsewhere in FA (D Robinson!) or the draft (which is deep at CB). We need a solution at CB, not a 1 year stop-gap.
