Haha...I don't know what's up - school's been killing me. I just saw Coleman and thought about all of the dude's that want him gone - Drew Coleman's sorry ass completely slipped my mind.

He made the biggest play in that Steelers playoff game. Unfortunately he was so incosistent and got burnt so badly so many time it was sickening.

Good start. He was decent player for us for a while though... We all knew he was pretty much a lock to get cut.

Who's next and what's our cap situation without Barrett?

I know, Kenyon is vital to our run defense. There isn't anyone readily available that we can replace him with just yet who could run stop like him. It's ridiculous.

Barrett is an aging zone corner who was overpaid. He had to be cut, and hopefully they cut Drew Coleman as well he is awful.

Probably, but more importantly it would free a roster spot up for someone who has even a remote chance of not being completely worthless.

What makes you say that? He's a 3-4 DE... He's not supposed to be a sack artist. His job is to be stout against the run, which he does pretty well.

While I would like to see a DE brought in for the rotation at some point, I would be fine seeing him start next year. Saying he's terrible is a misguided statement.

I hear you, hes not terrible, but we need a pass rushing de, and he makes alot of money.. and thanks to this favre non sense, its money the organization doesn't have.. i thought he was going to be an impact player when they signed him a couple years ago, and he really hasnt dont anything but be mediocre. terrible was harsh

He's a good run defender and is a solid starter. A 3-4 DE isn't going to provide our pass rush. We need an pass-rushing OLB, not DE. The 3-4 works differently than a 4-3 where the DE provides pass rush. Vernon Gholston was supposed to be that OLB last year. Hopefully he develops into the player we thought he'd be this year.

Because we have so much money invested in the OLBs - Gholston, Pace and Thomas - it would be a mistake to go after another one for a big contract. We need production from the guys we have now at OLB.

Why don't you guys get this: defensive ends in the 3-4 aren't supposed to be premier pass rushers.

they still should pressure the passer and occasionally get a sack...especially on passing downs
I think Coleman is a below average DE
I hope we draft a DE or two in the draft...It would do coleman some good playing as a backup and having less downs...
cutting him only saves about 900K...which is not worth it
maybe Rex can get more out of him
