coach. The pieces are all starting to come together for the Raiders.

    from ESPN

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was considered a coup for new Huskies coach Steve Sarkisian when he lured Michalczik away from Cal with a three-year contract with $350,000 annually. Michalczik is widely considered one of the best offensive line coaches on the West Coast.

    Michalczik leaves UW for Raiders

    Posted by Bob Condotta

Washington O-line coach and offensive coordinator Jim Michalczik, who was one of the first hires for new Husky coach Steve Sarkisian, is leaving the Huskies to take a position with the Oakland Raiders.

UW just officially announced the move.

Michalczik had a three-year contract worth a guaranteed $350,000 per year with UW. I don't know if there was a buyout but I'll try to find that out, and I'll have more on this later.

Word is Michalczik is leaving primarily so he can work with his longtime friend, Tom Cable, who was recently named as coach of the Raiders. It also means he's returning to the Bay Area, where he worked from 2002 until December, having been an assistant at Cal.

This leaves UW with two openings on its assistant coaching staff as the Huskies are also continuing to search for a WR coach after Aaron Roderick accepted the position, then left to return to Utah.

Here's what Sarkisian said about Michalczik at the time. Sarkisian had been particulary happy to get Michalczik on board due to his history for developing solid running games at Cal.

Couldn;t agree more with this poster on the Raiders board.

    Excellent hire

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think he will assume the role of OL coach/Running game Coord.

Yes, he can run the spread, and the "Wildcat"

Michalczik was a great hire and another of Cable's guys.

    Hey...with Cable calling the plays

    Tollner: Passing Game Coord
    Michalczik Running Game Coord/OL coach
    Hackett: QB coach

With OC experience, I think the game-plan will be innovative and dynamic.

I hate to admit it..but this coaching staff rocks.....Great experience, for Cable to draw upon, and the defensive staff as all been productive with extensive experience as well.

I guess Cable really had a plan for a staff, and built it as such. Sweet.....

    Hell from all Angles..my Friends

I'm just waiting for crazy Al to have to start dipping into the high school coaching ranks to fill vacancies.. if he lives long enough we could see it happen.

nobody is gonna say it??...ok...I guess i'll step up then.

    Jeaux...Nobody gives a shit.

All i know is...I would have to be a pretty big loser to go to other NFL team message boards and post "mundane" bullshit like this....really, how pathetic is this?! Don't you have an ounce of pride?

Do you really think anybody from the Raiders' message board would give a rats' ass, if I posted an article regarding the Jets hiring Cavanaugh to coach the QB's? C'mon man....quit wasting our bandwidth.

What section are we in. NFL section. So this is all NFL news not pertaining to the Jets. Raiders hiring the best Oline coach on the west coast is NFL News. You not the sharpest tool in the shed. Why would you open up the thread when you knew what that thread was about.

All this exceptional talent we keep hearing about notwithstanding, the Raiders sure lose a lot of football games.

Yay, it's time to bash Jeaux again!

No normally in this situation I'd like to argue his football point but I'm tired so I'll just take the low road. Jeaux, you're stupid and ugly!

Obviously the Raiders have cracked the secret recipe to winning the Super Bowl in the offseason.

Hire OL coach as head coach.

    Replace OL coach.

Super Bowl trophy is in the mail.

Yeah it's supposed to be NFL news. But the key word here that you might have missed is "news." Nobody cares. It is barely significant at all....

And did you ever learn grammar? "Raiders hire *********** to be there Oline" That makes no sense

So does that mean Gallery and crew will be released? Interesting plan Al has. Have a coach be the entire O-line.
